  • Patent number: 11724787
Abstract: A method comprising: providing an autonomous vehicle (AV) with a first estimated position of a target; directing the AV to travel toward the first estimated position at a constant velocity; receiving echo signals of transmitted sonar signals, the echo signals indicating a range and an azimuth of the target; determining a depth difference of the AV and the target based on the received echo signals, the depth difference being determined based on changes to the range and azimuth of the target over time; and in response to a depth difference existing, re-directing the AV toward a second estimated position of the target generated from the depth difference.

  • Patent number: 10336056
Abstract: A hybrid additive manufacturing method that allows for precise deposition of various photo curable resins without the use of a vat has been developed. This method utilizes thermoplastics for an exterior shell and structural support. This method of resin or epoxy deposition allows for stronger parts to be printed more rapidly through hybridization of two additive manufacturing methods. This hybrid nature greatly expands material compatibilities from strictly thermoplastics to thermoplastics and any photo curable resins. Furthermore, reinforcing materials or dopants can be incorporated into the part using the method and apparatus.

  • Patent number: 9955236
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system and method for providing supplemental content during a broadcast. The supplemental content is provided by the operation of an interactive application resident on a receiver. The interactive application is initiated through a trigger that is received during an otherwise standard broadcast. The trigger includes an interactive prompt that is to be displayed during a particular portion of the broadcast. The prompt including a means for enabling receipt of a user input. The user input may be a request for further information.

  • Patent number: 9591410
Abstract: A hearing assistance device includes two transducers which react to a characteristic of an acoustic wave to capture data representative of the characteristic. The device is arranged so that each transducers is located adjacent a respective ear of a person wearing the device. A signal processor processes the data to provide relatively more emphasis of data representing a first sound source the person is facing over data representing a second sound source the person is not facing. At least one speaker utilizes the data to reproduce sounds to the person. An active noise reduction system provides a signal to the speaker for reducing an amount of ambient acoustic noise in the vicinity of the person that is heard by the person.

  • Patent number: 9550343
Abstract: A laminated transparency includes a first ply having a No. 1 surface and a No. 2 surface. A second ply is spaced from the first ply and has a No. 3 surface and a No. 4 surface, with the No. 2 surface facing the No. 3 surface. A polymeric interlayer is positioned between the first and second plies. At least one failure strip is incorporated into the interlayer to provide a predetermined failure orientation for the transparency.

  • Patent number: 9474311
Abstract: An upper body garment having one or more pocket-like openings in an outer layer allowing access to an inner surface of the garment or an inside garment of a wearer of the upper body garment. Such access openings are referred to as “open bottom pockets”. These open bottom pockets are typically formed in addition to normal pockets, however, in some embodiments, the open bottom pockets may replace normal pockets. Representative examples of upper body garments with which the novel open bottom pockets may be useful include, but are not limited to, coats, jackets sweaters (particularly pullover style sweaters), sweatshirts, or any other similar upper body garments. When the upper body garment is an open front upper body garment, a zipper, preferably a nylon zipper may be included. A nylon zipper minimizes damage to a surface against which a wearer of the upper body garment may contact.
