  • Publication number: 20240128567
Abstract: A battery system, which is robust for mobile use and fulfils both the mechanical and thermal and electrical demands on a mobile, portable battery system, which are configured to be used in a flexible manner. The battery system also includes battery modules which in each case have at least one battery cell and one electronic module, at least one string housing, wherein the battery modules are arranged in the at least one string housing, and an external housing, wherein the at least one string housing is arranged in the external housing.

  • Publication number: 20230033646
Abstract: Conventional axial flux motors typically include multiple rotors and stators resulting in a larger and heavier motor. Additionally, conventional axial flux motors include a housing to protect the rotors and stators, but the housing is often difficult to seal from the environment leading to risks of contaminants (e.g., dirt, water) infiltrating the motor and causing failure over time. The present invention overcomes these limitations by disclosing an axial flux motor with a single rotor and two stators. The use of a single rotor reduces the size and weight of the motor. An inboard housing and an outboard housing mechanically support the two stators and are joined together to define an interior cavity. A ring seal is disposed between the two housings to ensure the interior cavity is sealed. Additionally, the two stators may actuate multiple degrees of freedom (DOF) including the rotation of a wheel and actuation of a suspension.

  • Publication number: 20210044165
Abstract: An electric motor including: a first and second subsystems, one of which is a magnetic rotor assembly and the other of which is a coil stator assembly; a hub assembly supporting the magnetic rotor assembly and the coil stator assembly and defining an axis of rotation; and a bearing assembly supporting at least one of the first and second subsystems on the hub assembly, wherein the first subsystem has an array of lift-generating elements for generating axially directed magnetic fields, the second subsystem has an electrically conductive region aligned with and opposite to the array of lift-generating elements of the first subsystem, and wherein the bearing assembly enables the magnetic rotor assembly to rotate about the rotational axis of the hub assembly and enables the separation distance of the magnetic rotor assembly from the coil stator assembly to change.
