Abstract: A method and system for converting non-ordered categorical data stored within a column in a data set into an ordered or continuous data stored in a new column within the data set. Each distinct categorical value in the nominal data column is represented by a corresponding distinct numerical value in the new column. The new representative numerical values are derived by constructing separate time series for each distinct value in the nominal data column and by calculating the similarities between the shapes of the time series. The proximity of the time series is captured in a numeric distance score. Each distinct distance score corresponds to a distinct value in the nominal data column and is a valid representation of that value in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical analysis.

Abstract: A method and system for discovering motifs in time series data from trading activities and using them to predict future trading trends. Each motif contains a set of sequential data points and its shape uniquely describes the trading events for a specified time period. Selected motifs are used as search references to find similar or dissimilar motifs within all or any sub-segment of the time series data and a similarity score is calculated for all matches. An artificial intelligence network learns the relationship between the similarity scores of the motifs and the subsequent trading events. The artificial intelligence network evaluates the shape of any trading motif, compares it with the learned motifs, and generates a prediction for the most likely motif to occur in the next trading period.

Abstract: A holder for mobile devices with camera including phones or tablets for taking self-portraits or selfies remotely. The holder device comprises of a receptacle to insert and clamp securely a mobile device, where the clamping also establishes an electronic connection between the holder device and the mobile device. The holder device further comprises of controls to set functions and to operate the camera on the mobile device, means to be attached or positioned on vertical or flat surfaces such as walls, mirrors, doors, tables, posts, etc., and means to adjust the angle of the receptacle. In another embodiment of the invention, it can further comprise a built-in flash and a remote control. In another embodiment of the invention, the holder device comprises of motion and voice detection sensors to allow users to control and operate the camera with voice or gestures commands.

Abstract: A method and system for generating and processing socially gamified offers. It comprised a software application for specifying the offer parameters such as discount, expiration date, gamification type, posting the offers to a network, and monitoring the gamification outcomes to unlock the offer. It further comprises a server and a software application for redistributing the offers and managing the gamified interactions. It further comprises of a gamification engine that allows the offers to be activated based on different types of interactions by the network users. The gamification can require reaching a threshold of social endorsements for the offer to activate. Various types of gamification algorithms are used to create different types of engagements with the network participants.

The metadata in the search results is arranged in a tabular view which is embedded in the display of search results and rendered invisible until selected by the user. Reports can be constructed from an identifier each returned record set for presenting, analyzing and modifying the data, and for generating further reports.

The method provides means to capture, aggregate, and notify in real-time the user soliciting advice about incoming responses. The responses may be submitted in structured form such as votes, as unstructured free text comments, or as pictures. The method and system also provides means to overlay the information with relevant targeted offers from third parties.

The method provides means to capture pictures, video, audio, and text into structured digital rating cards via computers, smart phones, and other digital devices. The method further provides means to create and assign multidimensional rating scales for inputting preference ratings. The multidimensional ratings scales support different input methods based on the device and the underlying scales' attributes. The method further provides means to share the rating cards on social media sites, and to capture all social interactions into secondary aggregated ratings that indicate the overall social assessment of the value of the items displayed in individual rating cards. The system also provides means for advertisers and businesses to place contents and rewards the user.

Abstract: A method and system for random matching of two individuals from within computer generated virtual pools of individuals with means for rapid, real-time, interactive assessment of their mutual compatibility on mobile and computer devices. Participating individuals indicate via device interfaces their availability for matching and the system determines and registers their locations. Participating individuals place requests for matching and the system algorithmically constructs proximity based virtual matching pools. For each matching request, an individual is selected randomly from the virtual matching pool and the two matched individuals are placed in a real-time, synchronous, compatibility assessment session. The system presents the matched individuals with a sequence of questions, tabulates the individual responses, calculates a matching score, and displays the matching score simultaneously to both participants in the compatibility assessment session.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a multifunctional (control, typing and editing) device for interactive computing, such as Web and Web TV computing. It consists of a frame, two removable letter keypads, and different sizes of hand extensions that can be attached to the sides of the frame. The frame consists of two rectangles of different sizes that are permanently attached to one another. The lower rectangle is narrower and thinner than the upper rectangle. On the upper, wider and thicker, rectangle are permanently positioned some function and control keys to be accessed primarily by the thumbs. The lower rectangle contains two square compartments into which can be placed the removable letter keypads. The keypads contain active keys on one side and the images of the active keys on the other side. Depending on how the keypads are positioned into the compartments the active keys can be accessed either from the front or from the back of the device, thus allowing for two completely different ways of typing.

The pouch is retained adjacent the lid member when the brewing substance is being stored. The pouch extends from the lid member when the brewing substance is to be brewed. The pouch is designed to retain the brewing substance in the pouch during and after the beverage is brewed.
