  • Publication number: 20240098673
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable mediums are configured to perform operations including detecting a plurality of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) that are transmitted for a physical broadcast channel (PBCH), each of the SSBs having a SSB index comprising a set of bit values; detecting, from the plurality of SSBs, a first SSB received at a first time and a second SSB received at a second time that is different from the first time; decoding, for a first SSB of the plurality, first bit values of a first SSB index representing the first SSB and of a second SSB index representing the second SSB; determining, based on the first time and the second time, a receive time gap between the first SSB and the second SSB; and determining, based on the receive time gap and the first bit values of the first SSB index and the second SSB index, at least a second bit value of the first second SSB index representing the first SSB and the second SSB representing the second SSB.

  • Patent number: 11924732
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for emergency communications (e.g., voice calls and/or SMS messages) for UE's without cellular coverage (e.g., in non-cellular coverage). A UE may establish, while out of range of cellular service, a peer-to-peer communication session with a relay UE using a channel in an unlicensed frequency band. The UE may transmit, using the peer-to-peer communication session, an emergency notification to the relay UE. The emergency notification may include an approximate location of the UE. Further the UE may communicate with a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), where the communications may be relayed between the UE and the PSAP by the relay UE. The approximate location of the UE may be based, at least in part, on a location of the relay UE and determining the approximate location of the UE may include performing a ranging procedure with the relay UE.

  • Publication number: 20240031795
Abstract: This Application describes mechanisms for enterprise remote management of cellular services provided via access credentials, e.g., subscriber identity modules (SIMs) and/or electronic SIMs (eSIMs), for wireless devices. To minimize requirements for user interaction, installation and management of business-supplied cellular service profiles on the wireless device can intercept alert notifications to reduce interruptions and allow for background management of the business-supplied cellular service profiles. Additionally, a business enterprise can use multiple, distinct services to initiate installation of an eSIM to a wireless device. When two different services attempt to install eSIMs on the wireless device in parallel, management software on the wireless device can control an order of installation and disallow duplicate installations of an identical eSIM to the wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20240007834
Abstract: This Application sets forth techniques for binding and dynamic provisioning of international mobile equipment identifier (IMEI) values with cellular wireless service profiles, such as subscriber identity modules (SIMs) on physical SIM (pSIM) cards and electronic SIMs (eSIMs) on an embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC) of the mobile wireless device. When pSIMs and/or eSIMs change on the mobile wireless device, e.g., based on installation, activation, deactivation, de-installation, etc., IMEI binding logic accounts for the changes and maps IMEI values to pSIMs and/or eSIMs as required. IMEI values can be assigned based on a history of bindings between IMEI values and ICCID values of one or more eSIMS on an eUICC. A most recently used or a newly assigned IMEI value can be associated with an eSIM. Whether to assign an identical IMEI value to multiple eSIMs depends on requirements of associated cellular wireless service subscriptions.

  • Patent number: 11812312
Abstract: Wireless devices, networks and methods may operate to have a wireless device cause a base station to trigger voice call continuity handovers responsive to the quality of the cellular radio link in addition to the base station triggering such handovers based on location or mobility. Furthermore, wireless communication devices may also perform monitoring of multiple buffers operating within the wireless communication device and associated with different respective communication layers, in addition to monitoring the quality of the cellular radio link, to perform intelligent dropping/discarding and/or scheduling of packets at the wireless communications device. Any one or more of these features may improve the ability of the wireless communications device to achieve stated Voice over Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) performance benchmarks in the context of the realities of current VoLTE networks.

  • Patent number: 11792599
Abstract: A device, e.g. a wireless communication device may obtain information associated with private cellular networks from a provisioning server. The information may provide an indication of coverage area(s) of available private cellular network(s). The device may communicate over a commercial cellular network, and determine, based at least on the information, whether the device is located within the coverage area of any available private cellular networks. The device may connect to a first private cellular network (FPCN) of the available private cellular networks and switch from communicating over the commercial cellular network to communicating over the FPCN at least in response to the determination indicating that the device is located within the indicated coverage area. The device may disconnect from the FPCN in response to a determination that the signal level of the FPCN is below a specified value and the device is not using a wallet garden application.

  • Patent number: 11758608
Abstract: A network component communicating with a user equipment (UE) and a server. The network component receives a first packet from the UE, wherein the first packet indicates to the network component that the network component is to perform operations on behalf of the UE to maintain a persistent connection, receives a second packet from the server and determines whether to transmit a signal to the UE based on the second packet received from the server. A UE having a transceiver and a processor. The UE transmits a first packet to the network component, wherein the first packet indicates to the network component that the network component is to perform operations on behalf of the UE to maintain a persistent connection, identifies an out of service (OOS) event, receives registration information from the network component and registers with the server based on the registration information received from the network component.

  • Patent number: 11706679
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for high data mode operation in cellular networks. A UE may determine, for an interface to a high-speed cellular network, a categorization from a plurality of categorizations, determine availability of the high-speed cellular network, and select, based at least in part on the categorization and availability of the high-speed cellular network, the interface for a data connection to the high-speed cellular network. The categorization may be one of expensive or not expensive and/or one of a first level associated with a higher compression codec rate or a second level associated with a lower compression codec rate. The UE may receive, from one of the a low-speed cellular network or the high-speed cellular network, carrier plan information for a cellular data service carrier and analyze the carrier plan information to determine desirability of a switch, e.g., from the low-speed cellular network to the high-speed cellular network.

  • Publication number: 20230083018
Abstract: The described embodiments set forth techniques for recovering one or more electronic subscriber identity modules (eSIMs) previously deleted from an embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC) of a mobile wireless device. Prior to deletion of an eSIM, the mobile wireless device uploads first eSIM subscription information to a cloud network services server and stores second eSIM subscription information in a secure memory of the eUICC. The mobile wireless device can subsequently download the first eSIM subscription information to verify matching to the second eSIM subscription information stored in the eUICC before displaying an option for recovering the eSIM. The mobile wireless device sends to a mobile network operator (MNO) provisioning server an eSIM recovery request notification that includes at least a portion of the first eSIM subscription information, and the MNO provisioning server provides an eSIM recovery response message indicating approval and a network address to download the eSIM.
