  • Publication number: 20170185716
Abstract: A head mounted display, typically in the form of glasses or eyewear, can be used to electronically document patient information and chart patient care. The head mounted display device can interface with EMR software to allow a physician to do patient care tasks and rounds, simultaneously documenting in the patient record by giving verbal commands to the head mounted display. The patient chart and history can be made visible to the physician through the eyewear, allowing the physician to move freely from patient to patient. The eyewear display can also be able to interface with other medical equipment to pull in vital information from heart monitors, respiratory devices, IV devices, and other numerical valuations involved with patient care. As a result, the physician can provide superior patient care without losing precious time spent sitting at a computer for performing documentation and charting.

  • Publication number: 20170179596
Abstract: A wideband reflectarray antenna for dual polarizations application is formed by an array of phasing cells, where each cell contains two orthogonal or quasi-orthogonal sets of parallel conductive dipoles printed on two levels of a multilayered grounded substrate. The dipoles for each polarization are coupled in both horizontal and vertical directions, providing a large broadband operation and low cross-polarization with only two levels of metallizations. The antenna is designed by adjusting the lengths of the dipoles to produce the phase-shift required to collimate or shape the radiated beam in dual-polarization when illuminated by a feed, either in broadband or dual-frequency operation. The invention also relates to a design and manufacturing method for producing the reflectarray antenna, based on the optimization of the dipole lengths for each phasing cell.

  • Patent number: 9677009
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for breaking of preferred, but not exclusive, oil-in-water emulsions (O/W) and water separation from crude oil emulsions using surfactants as demulsifying agents derived from natural or synthetic amino acids, which are water soluble. The surfactants are of the methanesulfonate series of glycine ester derivatives with hydrocarbon chains, preferably between C10 and C16, at a concentration between 450 and 900 ppm, at a temperature range of 30 to 60° C. The removal of water from the crude oil by using natural or synthetic amino acid-based demulsifiers is highly efficient (about 80%) and complemented with the action of an electric field typically used in electrostatic separators in crude oil terminals ad oil refineries, increasing the efficiency of water separation substantially, and enabling the production of dehydrated crude oil for further processing.

  • Publication number: 20140354105
Abstract: Construction arrangement of a permanent magnet rotor in an electric machine that comprises a plurality of notches having permanent magnets inserted axially to form the poles of the electric machine. The magnetic magnets are arranged in the notches made in the geometry of the magnetic plate constituting the mechanical structure of the rotor. The axial notches divide the geometry of the rotor stacked plate into two areas separated by a narrow magnetic strip known as the bridge, through which the dispersion magnetic flux is regulated. The dispersion magnetic flux established thereby is reduced by at least 20% because of the recess on the mentioned bridge.

  • Publication number: 20130219933
Abstract: An evaporative cooling apparatus includes a liquid reservoir and a pump coupled to the liquid reservoir. The pump includes a pressure output that applies a static pressure against the liquid stored in the liquid reservoir. The applied pressure forces liquid through a liquid supply line to a nozzle unit, and the liquid is ejected into a stream of forced air from a fan for evaporative cooling applications. The pressure output is also in fluid communication with the nozzle unit via a gas supply line extending between the pressure output and the nozzle unit for delivering gas into the nozzle unit. The gas delivered to the nozzle unit interacts with the liquid inside the nozzle unit to generate the atomized spray of liquid droplets.

  • Patent number: 8017346
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for quantifying G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR)-G protein binding by means of using a cell membrane array, which comprises (i) putting an unlabeled candidate compound in contact with a cell membrane array in the presence of labeled GTP or of a labeled, non-hydrolyzable analog thereof, in conditions allowing the interaction between said compound and said GPCR present in said cell membranes, and between said labeled GTP or analog thereof and said G protein present in said membranes; (ii) washing; and (iii) quantifying the signal obtained due to the binding of the labeled GTP (or analog) to said G protein. It is applicable in the analysis of the interaction between compounds and cell membrane receptor proteins and of the intracellular signaling mechanisms triggering this interaction mechanism mediated by said compounds.
