  • Patent number: 7631943
Abstract: Bristles are fed to a brush-making machine by an apparatus having a drum centered on and extending along a drum axis and formed with a plurality of angularly spaced and axially extending passages each of a circularly segmental cross section with a vertex directed radially inward toward the axis and each having a downstream end and an opposite upstream end. A respective group of elongated flexible bristles is supplied through the upstream ends into each of the passages and expelled from the downstream ends. A nozzle immediately downstream of the downstream ends has an outlet aperture of a predetermined inside diameter and a frustoconical inner surface tapering downstream away from the downstream ends and axially aligned with the downstream passage ends such that at least some of the bristles exiting the downstream end of each passage engage and are deflected by the inner surface.

  • Publication number: 20050242655
Abstract: A system for feeding a plurality of bristles in a circular arrangement, particularly for use in machines for forming circular brushes, comprises a drum (1) extending axially along its own axis (X1) and designed to form a plurality of axial channels (2a, 2b, 2c, etc.), each having a cross section in the form of a sector of a circle, in a circular arrangement with the corresponding vertices orientated towards the central axis (X1) of the said drum (1), and also a replaceable nozzle (B), positioned downstream of the said channels (2a, 2b, 2c, etc.) with respect to the direction of feeding of the bristles and designed to form an internal truncated conical cavity tapered from the upstream to the downstream end and having an outlet aperture (5). In order to change the maximum diameter of the circular arrangement of the bristles being fed, the said nozzle (4) is replaced with one having an outlet aperture (5) with a different diameter.

  • Publication number: 20050229390
Abstract: A method for obtaining a bundle of wires containing a desired number of wires comprises: a)—winding the wire (F) in a configuration having the form of a first spiral (E1); b)—winding the wire (F) in a configuration having the form of an additional spiral (E2) arranged alongside the preceding spiral (E1); c)—performing the operation b) one or more times until a helical bundle (En) is obtained. The final bundle (6) of wires is obtained by extension of the helical bundle (En) of individual spirals (E1, E2, E3, etc.) formed in succession. A system for implementing the said method comprises a drum (201) having, formed on its casing, a multiple-turn helical groove (202) provided with retaining means (203a, 203b) intended to retain the wire (F) or the bunch of wires (F50) in the vicinity of at least one end (202a, 202b) of said helical groove (202).

  • Publication number: 20050166656
Abstract: A method for straightening at least one original wire (F0), by means of a travel path (AM), comprises a first bending-curving segment (AC) intended to bend and curve the original wire (F0) in order to obtain downstream (C) of said first bending-curving segment (AC) a flow of bent and curved intermediate wire (F1) having a given radius of curvature, and a second straightening segment (CM) arranged consecutively after said first bending/curving segment (AC) and intended to straighten the said flow of intermediate wire (F1). —An apparatus for implementing said method, comprising a first series of bending/curving rollers (10, 20, 30, 40) and a second series of straightening rollers (50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110).

  • Patent number: 6578928
Abstract: A system for assembling and shaping semi-finished products (4) consisting of circular brushes comprises a bristle-insertion station (ST2) in which, substantially: a) there is provided a folded circular ring nut (107), which extends axially along its own axis (7x), and has a conical front profiled section (7ap), a central cylindrical portion (7a), a rear circumferential side (7dp) and a central axial hole (7b), fitted onto a ring nut-holder unit (43-39-38) with a conical front head (43); b) a ring (2) is disposed slightly spaced axially in front of the said ring nut (107) and coaxially (2x-7x) relative to the said folded ring nut (107); and c) a plurality of bristles (61) is inserted in a circumferentially distributed manner, by being made to pass between the inner circumference of the said ring (2) and the outer circumference of the said head (43), and thus on the outer circumference of the said ring nut (107), until a specific length (98a) of bristles (61) is obtained, disposed downstream from the said ring

  • Patent number: 4860922
Abstract: The dispenser includes a bin which is adjustable for width, and a release mechanism attached to the bin externally of its outlet. The mechanism comprises a sliding shutter and a baffle, vertically disposed and breasted in mutual contact. The shutter is provided with a slot of adjustable height and moves vertically between a raised receiving position and a lowered knockout position at which the packet of coins is ejected from the slot. The baffle is urged against the shutter by the weight of the packets of coin emerging from the outlet of the bin and thus accompanies the shutter at least through part of its vertical travel.
