Abstract: Stable, perfumed, highly acidic liquid compositions are disclosed which comprise a source of active oxygen, a surfactant and a cyclic terpene/sesquiterpene compound (e.g. eucalyptol). Said compositions are particularly suitable to clean hard surfaces like toilet bowls.

Abstract: Liquid bleaching compositions are described which comprise hydrogen peroxide or a source thereof, as well as a bleach activator. The liquid bleach activator is hydrophobic, and the compositions are formulated as microemulsions of said bleach activator in a hydrophilic matrix comprising water and a surfactant system comprising an anionic and a nonionic surfactant.

Abstract: The present invention relates to liquid compositions comprising a peroxygen bleach, a liquid hydrophobic bleach activator and a polyhydroxy fatty acid amide surfactant according to the formula R.sup.2 --C(O)--N(R.sup.1)-Z, wherein R.sup.1 is H, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 hydrocarbyl, 2-hydroxy ethyl, 2-hydroxy propyl or a mixture thereof, R.sup.2 is C.sub.5 -C.sub.31 hydrocarbyl, and Z is a polyhydroxycarbyl having a linear hydrocarbyl chain with at least 3 hydroxyls directly connected to the chain, or an alkoxylated derivative thereof, said compositions being formulated either as an emulsion or a microemulsion. The present invention further encompasses a process for pretreating soiled fabrics with a liquid composition comprising such a polyhydroxy fatty acid amide surfactant, whereby improved stain removal performance is delivered.

Preferred compositions further comprise hudrogen peroxide. The compositions herein are particularly useful for the bleaching of fabrics.

Abstract: A process of bleaching fabrics is disclosed where a liquid or pasty composition comprising acetyl triethyl citrate and a source of hydrogen peroxide is applied to fabrics before they are immersed in an aqueous wash liquor.
