  • Publication number: 20220150735
Abstract: During operation, an access point compares a communication performance metric of the access point and a parameter corresponding to communication performance metrics of one or more second access points. For example, the access point may determine the communication performance metric based on communication with one or more electronic devices and/or may receive information specifying the communication performance metrics of the one or more second access points. Then, the access point selectively provides a recommendation for a first connected electronic device in the one or more electronic devices based at least in part on the comparison and a history of responses of at least the first connected electronic device to one or more previous recommendations, where the recommendation indicates that the first connected electronic device, which is associated with the access point, transition to a different communication channel.

  • Publication number: 20220141511
Abstract: An example method includes determining, over a particular time-period and at a periodic interval, a viewer count of content-presentation devices receiving content on a channel from a non-local content-distribution system and, based on the viewer count, identifying, within the particular time-period: (i) a first time-period having a threshold consistent viewer count for a first threshold duration, (ii) a second time-period where there is a drop in the viewer count by a threshold amount and the drop lasts for a second threshold duration, and (iii) a third time-period where the viewer count returns to an amount within a threshold range of the threshold consistent viewer count for a third threshold duration. The method also includes based on the identified time-periods, detecting a portion of the content that serves as a placeholder for local content to be inserted by a local content-distribution system, and performing an action associated with the detected portion.

  • Patent number: 11320482
Abstract: An integrated circuit having a secure domain is disclosed. Circuitry within the integrated circuit is used to select one of a plurality of scan modes. The sequence used to select one of the scan modes also serves to reset all of the flip-flops in the secure domain. In this way, it is impossible for a hacker to use the test modes to shift data from the secure domain out of the integrated circuit. The reset is generated asynchronously upon assertion of a first signal and is terminated upon the assertion of a second signal. The assertion of the second signal also serves to select one of the scan modes. This system cannot be hacked by any method that enters scan mode since it is a hardware based solution.

  • Publication number: 20220128642
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include methods, apparatuses, systems, and computer program product for enabling multi-point shunt calibration of a sensor device. Multi-point shunt calibration provides at least a first, second, and third simulated calibration output, each simulated calibration output corresponding to an actual reading value and an expected reading value. The simulated calibration outputs are associated with a predefined output sequence, where each simulated calibration output is separated from an adjacent simulated calibration output by an output step size. Some embodiments are configured for automatically outputting each simulated calibration output for a particular period of time before outputting an adjacent simulated calibration output in the predefined output sequence. The various simulated calibration outputs, actual reading values, and/or expected values may be used in determining calibrated reading values for the sensor device.

  • Patent number: 11315637
Abstract: Aspects of a storage device including a memory and controller are provided which allow for erase voltages applied during erase operations to be adaptively changed at elevated temperatures to reduce erase time and prevent erase failures. In response to detecting a lower temperature of the memory, the controller applies a first erase voltage to cells in a block of a die, and in response to detecting a higher temperature of the memory, the controller applies a second erase voltage larger than the first erase voltage to the cells in the block of the die. The controller may apply the different erase voltages depending on whether the temperature of the die falls within respective temperature ranges or meets a respective temperature threshold, which may change for different dies. As a result, successful erase operations at higher temperatures may be achieved.

  • Patent number: 11317270
Abstract: Systems and methods present practical applications to directing emergency alerts from cellular-based message distribution systems to distributed desktop applications via a desktop application gateway. Logic in the desktop applications and their corresponding IP network gateways for the desktop application may direct alerts from the cellular-based system to distributed desktop applications having a connection to the gateway. A distributed application may determine a location of the user and include enhancements to display the alert at a user's computing device. The gateway for the distributed application may store the location information for each logged-in user or registered instance of the user. An interface between the cell broadcast center and the distributed application gateway may allow the gateway to receive the alert, including a region for distributing the alert, from the cell broadcast center, and send the alert to all registered users with a location matching the alert region.

  • Patent number: 11314628
Abstract: A system provides intelligent unit performance testing of computer applications. In particular, the system may provide an intelligent unit performance testing engine which may allow application developers to perform critical testing of the application during the software development life cycle for performance driven development. The engine may be invoked as either an offline or online process which may analyze applications based on certain performance testing parameters as specified by the developer. In this regard, the system may be configured to read performance testing-specific tags added by the developer to the source code of the application in development. Upon executing the performance testing, the output of the performance testing may be provided to the developer and/or other involved users within the application development process. In this way, the system may provide an effective way for a developer to conduct performance testing at earlier stages of the software development life cycle.

  • Patent number: 11310735
Abstract: System, method and computer-readable storage medium including, a first communications device including a host processor to wake up upon receipt of a message and stream audio directly to another device via wireless communication, a second communications device including circuitry to control the streaming of the audio by sending messages to the first communications device and to control a display. The host processor of the first communications device enters a sleep stale during audio streaming while a state of the display is off. Reduction in the number of messages sent by the second communications device, or offloading, of message handling by the host processor, allows the host processor to remain in a steep state for longer periods.

  • Publication number: 20220114027
Abstract: An Information Handling System (IHS) includes multiple hardware devices, and a Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) in communication with the hardware devices. The BMC includes executable code to cause the BMC to receive a message associated with a non-registered hardware device that is not registered to be managed by the BMC in which the message formatted according to a native protocol of the BMC. The code further causes the code to transmit the message to a device plugin associated with the non-registered hardware device in which the device plugin comprises custom instructions that, upon execution by a system processor, cause the IHS to convert the message into a protocol associated with the non-registered hardware device, and forward the converted message to the non-registered hardware device using the protocol of the non-registered hardware device.

  • Publication number: 20220111865
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed to determine driver scoring that consider deviations in map and sensor data in driver score computations. The deviations can be based on deviations from an optimum driving path, and include the determination of vectors between a reference point and one or more landmarks, and one or more reference vectors between the reference point the landmark(s) when traveling on an optimum driving path. A difference between the vectors may then be used determine the deviations from the optimum driving path. In contrast to the conventional approaches, the use of positional deviations (e.g. determined from road markings) in the computation of driver scores allows for improved driver scoring techniques and driver characterizations.
