Abstract: A system is disclosed which allows gives the Provider the ability to safely and securely transfer funds via a counterparty enabled “pull” from the Payer's account to the Provider's account for payments made by ACH or VCN. The system is based upon a token embedded in the remittance to claim (pull) the funds and sent to the provider and a trusted party used for transferring funds from the payer's account to the provider's account. The provider is thus able to “pull” funds from the provider by using the token embedded in the remittance advice. The token is provided to a trusted party who transfers the funds relating to the token. The use of the token and the change of process flow requiring the provider to pull the funds instead of having the funds pushed into their account eliminates any mismatch between the claim and the payment for the claim.
