The inlet port may be structured to receive an air flow from outside the housing and provide the air flow to the chamber. The air quality monitoring device may include a plurality of sensors disposed within the chamber and configured to measure air quality data associated with the air flow. The air quality monitoring device may include an adapter configured to be connected to the inlet port and a continuous positive airway pressure machine. The inlet port may be configured to receive the air flow from the continuous positive airway pressure machine via the adapter. The air quality monitoring device may include a controller connected with the plurality of sensors and configured to transmit the air quality data to a computing device.

An example air quality monitoring device may include a housing comprising a chamber and an inlet port, a plurality of sensors to measure air quality data, and a controller. The inlet port is structured to selectively receive ambient air flow such that the sensors measure air quality data associated with the ambient air flow and to selectively receive air flow directly from an outlet port of a positive airway pressure machine such that the sensors measure air quality data associated with the air flow from positive airway pressure machine. The controller compares the measured air quality data associated with the ambient air flow with the measured air quality data associated with the air flow from the positive airway pressure machine to determine net air quality data associated with air flow from the positive airway pressure machine.

The sensing and secretion bypass apparatus may further include a disposal housing in fluid communication with the chamber of the adapter and configured to collect the secretions received via the first end of the chamber.
