    Abstract: The subject invention provides nanoparticle drug delivery systems and methods of making and using the same. In one aspect, the present invention provides a nanoparticle drug delivery system comprising a magnetic nanoparticle (MNP) encapsulated by at least one bilayer coating comprising a layer of drug molecules and a layer of polymer. In another aspect, a method of using the nanoparticle drug delivery system can include: administering the nanoparticle drug delivery system systemically and localizing the nanoparticles to the target treatment area. In embodiments the nanoparticle drug delivery system is used to treat HIV-AIDS.
