  • Publication number: 20090145126
Abstract: A method and system for controlling an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system is provided. The method and system may incorporate a device or devices that continuously monitors an exhaust stream for harmful constituents. The method and system may control components of the EGR system based on the concentration of harmful constituents within the exhaust.

  • Publication number: 20090120089
Abstract: The exhaust within an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system should be purged to allow for access to the components of the EGR system. A system and method for purging the EGR system is provided. The system and method may incorporate an: EGR purge fan, an EGR purge blower, or a turbomachine. The system and method may draw the exhaust out of the EGR system. The system and method may drive the exhaust out of the EGR system.

  • Publication number: 20090120088
Abstract: A portion of the exhaust generated by a turbomachine is recirculated through an inlet portion by an exhaust gas recirculation system. The system reduces the level of Sulfur Oxides and other constituents within the exhaust before the exhaust is recirculated. The system may utilize sea water, fresh water, or combinations thereof; as part of a scrubbing process to reduce the Sulfur Oxides and other constituents.

  • Publication number: 20080298957
Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides an air conditioning system located upstream of the inlet system for a gas turbine. The air conditioning system may comprise at least one conditioning module for adjusting the temperature of the airstream. The at least one conditioning module may have a plurality of forms including at least one of the following systems: a chiller, an evaporative cooler; a spray cooler, or combinations thereof. The specific form of the at least one conditioning module may be determined in part the configuration of the gas turbine.

  • Publication number: 20080178590
Abstract: An integrated power plant cooling system for an electrical generating power plant driven by a gas turbine to cool power plant components is provided. The integrated cooling system includes a heat source extracted from the power plant and an absorption chiller utilizing energy from the heat source to cool a chilling medium. An integrated cooling skid includes heat removal devices for a plurality of power plant components. The chilling medium output from the absorption chiller is circulated to the heat removal devices for the power plant components of the integrated cooling skid. Plant cooling water may remove heat from the absorption chiller.
