The techniques comprising determining current metrics for a set of potential paths between an edge device and an application endpoint associated with an application, generating, from the current metrics, a link score for individual paths in the set of potential paths, receiving application status data generated from historic telemetry data associated with the application and the set of potential paths, generating, from the application status data, an application score for individual paths in the set of potential paths, and determining, as a function of the link score and the application score for individual paths in the set of potential paths, a selected path to be used in communications between the edge device and the application endpoint.

    Abstract: Various embodiments of an impact absorbing pad are disclosed herein. Each pad is configured to protect a load bearing surface of an implant from damage when the implant is implanted. Each pad may have an attachment portion that allows the pad to be attached to the load bearing surface. An impactor tool may also be attached to the load bearing surface and utilized the drive a portion of the implant into a bone cavity. The pad may be removed by hand, removed with the tool, or implanted with the implant. Related systems and methods for using and making the pad are also disclosed.

    Abstract: A method includes receiving from a core network entity a paging message including a permanent user identity of a user for a specific user equipment, and determining, using the permanent user identity, a set of small cells to which the paging message should be sent based on a small cell last visited by the specific user equipment and small cells that are neighbors to the last-visited small cell. The paging message, without the permanent user identity, is sent to the determined set of small cells. Another method includes, responsive to determining a paging message for a specific user equipment is to be communicated toward the specific user equipment, determining whether a gateway can receive paging messages comprising a permanent user identity and a temporary user identity, and responsive thereto, sending the paging message for the specific user equipment to the gateway. Apparatus and computer program products are also disclosed.
