Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable mediums for monitoring and managing a computing system using resource chains are disclosed. In some examples, a method includes obtaining resource component data from each of a plurality of resource managers in a computing system and organizing the resource component data to establish logical relationships among resource components included in the computing system. The method further includes defining a resource configuration that identifies at least two of the resource components used to facilitate a communication path between a virtual resource in the computing system to a designated network element and displaying the resource configuration as a resource chain that defines a linking order among the at least two of the resource components that facilitate the communication path.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for deploying an application in a converged infrastructure is described. The application may be deployed according a model that specifies deployment of the application on resources allocated from the converged infrastructure. The model may be used to scale and adjust the deployment of the application according to pre-determined best practices and according to deployment-specific parameters provided by a system administrator.

Abstract: An application alerting system includes a computing system that executes an application alerting service monitor at least one of multiple computing resources configured in a computing infrastructure to determine whether the one monitored computing resource experiences a failure. When a failure is detected, the service transmits a failure notification to applications associated with the failed monitored computing resource such that the application may perform at least one remedial action according to the received failure notification.

Abstract: An application deployment system includes a computing device that stores computing infrastructure (CI) information associated with a computing infrastructure to be deployed in a portable memory structure, wherein the portable memory structure is physically associated with the computing infrastructure to be deployed. When the computing infrastructure is transported to the deployment site, the computing device receives the stored application configuration information from a portable communication device that has previously obtained the stored application configuration information from the portable memory structure, obtains one or more applications to be installed on the computing infrastructure according to the received application configuration information, and transmits the applications to the portable communication device, wherein the portable communication device downloads the applications to the computing infrastructure for being installed on the computing infrastructure.
