Patent number: 4708551Abstract: An expansion dowel assembly is adapted to secure fastening plates in spaced relation onto a structure. The expansion dowel assembly includes an axially extending sleeve-like member including an expansion section arranged to be secured into the structure and a collar section. The collar section engages the facing plate between a bearing and an abutment. An axially extending part of the collar section between the bearing and the abutment is arranged to collapse in the axial direction so that the space between the bearing and the abutment corresponds to the wall thickness of the facing plate. The axially collapsible part permits the expansion dowel assembly to be used with facing plates of different thicknesses.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 1985Date of Patent: November 24, 1987Assignee: Hilti AktiengesellschaftInventors: Hanno Richter, Helmut Mirsberger, Raimer Uhlig, Manfred Haage, Philipp Uebel

Patent number: 4607992Abstract: An expansion dowel assembly includes an axially elongated expansion sleeve with an axially extending expansion region, a spreader positioned within the sleeves in the expansion region, and a bolt in threaded engagement within a tapped bore in the spreader so that the spreader can be displaced axially through the expansion region for widening it in the radial direction. The surface of the spreader in surface contact with the interior of the sleeve is spherically shaped. In the assembled state, before expansion, the spreader is held in the expansion sleeve against axial displacement. Accordingly, the parts of the assembly can be preassembled as a unit.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 1984Date of Patent: August 26, 1986Assignee: Hilti AktiengesellschaftInventors: Bernd Mauritz, Raimer Uhlig

Patent number: 4570401Abstract: A device for adjustably mounting facing plates on a structure includes an elongated L-shaped supporting member made up of a first leg or web and a second leg or web. One surface on each of the first and second legs of the supporting member is toothed. An abutment also having a toothed surface is arranged to intermesh with the toothed surface on the first leg of the supporting member. The toothed surface of the second leg extends in the long direction of the supporting member and intermeshes with a similar toothed surface on a supporting plate. Supporting bolts are connected to the supporting plate and project into receiving holes in the facing plates. The second leg of the supporting member has an opening through which one of the supporting bolts can pass. For aligning adjacent facing plates the transversely extending dimensions of the opening in the second plate are selected as multiples of the diameter of the supporting bolts.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 1984Date of Patent: February 18, 1986Assignee: Hilti AktiengesellschaftInventors: Philipp Uebel, Jaroslav Rousek, Raimer Uhlig

Patent number: 4494347Abstract: An assembly is used to space facade panels and/or facade supports from a structural support member and the assembly is made up of a support member, a dowel and an expansion screw. The support member is resilient and is provided with stop shoulders so that it can be inserted into an opening in the facade panel or facade support with the shoulders bearing against the panel or support. A dowel is inserted through and is interengaged with the support member. The dowel is inserted into a borehole in the structural support member and the expansion screw secures the dowel within the borehole.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1982Date of Patent: January 22, 1985Assignee: Hilti AktiengesellschaftInventor: Raimer Uhlig

Patent number: 4462729Abstract: Expansion dowels for use in slabs, masonry and similar structural components having a face surface and a hollow space inwardly of the face surface so that the dowel can be inserted through the face surface into the hollow space. The dowel has a shaft part which extends through the face surface into the hollow space. Expansion arms are flexibly articulated to the shaft part and are located in the hollow space when the dowel is inserted. Support levers are flexibly articulated to the expansion arms and are interconnected by a link. The support levers are also located within the hollow space when the dowel is fully inserted. The expansion arms and support levers can be angularly displaced between an insert position so that the dowel can be inserted into the hollow space and an expansion position for holding the dowel in the inserted position. Releasable stops are provided for securing the expansion arms and support levers in the insert position.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 1981Date of Patent: July 31, 1984Assignee: Hilti AktiengesellschaftInventors: Raimer Uhlig, Gusztav Lang

Patent number: 4141528Abstract: A sound dampening fastening element includes a sound dampening body, an anchoring member and a support member. The dampening body is prism-shaped and formed of a resilient material. The anchoring member has a head and a shank with the head and a portion of the shank embedded within the dampening body and the remaining portion of the shank extending outwardly from the dampening body. The support member is partly embedded within the dampening body and the remaining part extends outwardly from the opposite side of the dampening body from which the shank extends. The support member has a shaped configuration with wall sections within the dampening body combining to form an opening through which the shank extends. The diameter of the opening is greater than the diameter of the shank but smaller than the diameter of the head of the anchoring member. The part of the support member extending outwardly from the dampening body includes openings for receiving a belt-like support element and also a threaded opening.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 1978Date of Patent: February 27, 1979Assignee: Hilti AktiengesellschaftInventors: Armin Herb, Raimer Uhlig

Patent number: 4132146Abstract: A swivel nut assembly consists of a nut formed of a pair of pivotally interconnected U-shaped disks each forming a U-shaped recess. The disks can be pivoted from an open position with the U-shaped recesses disposed in spaced relation to a closed position where the disks overlap and a portion of each of the recesses combine to provide the threaded opening through the nut. Each disk has an extension projecting from it toward the other disk. In the closed position the disks can be locked together.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 1977Date of Patent: January 2, 1979Assignee: Hilti AktiengesellschaftInventor: Raimer Uhlig

Patent number: 4102587Abstract: An angle-shaped support member consists of a unitary element formed into a pair of legs extending normally to one another and interconnected at their adjacent ends by an outwardly extending rectangularly shaped box section. The opposite ends of the legs from the box section each have an outwardly directed flange. The flanges and walls of the box section have axially aligned openings through which bars can be fitted. The openings in the flanges and walls are offset laterally relative to one another to avoid any interference between the bars which extend through them.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 1977Date of Patent: July 25, 1978Assignee: Hilti AktiengesellschaftInventors: Armin Herb, Erich Leibhard, Raimer Uhlig
