  • Patent number: 11885853
Abstract: A method for determining the state of health of a battery by monitoring charging of the battery over multiple charging instances is provided. The method is implemented within charging stations by: recognizing the battery via a unique identifier; charging the battery; monitoring conditions of the battery during charging; storing data related to the current charging instance based at least partially on the monitored conditions; retrieving data related to at least one earlier charging instance of the uniquely identified battery; and making a determination of the uniquely identified battery's state of health based at least partially on a comparison of the data related to the current charging instance and the retrieved data related to at least one earlier charging instance.

  • Publication number: 20220242249
Abstract: A method and arrangement are provided for controlling electric current in a tether cable of an electrically driven mining vehicle. An indicator of an equivalent cycle current that flows through said tether cable is determined, and one or more descriptors of an actual state of dynamically changing conditions of the tether cable are obtained. A current limiting value is determined on the basis of the indicator and the descriptors, and a total amount of current is limited that the mining vehicle draws through the tether cable to a value smaller than or equal to the determined current limiting value.

  • Publication number: 20220219546
Abstract: A mining vehicle includes a traction mechanism for propelling the mining vehicle, a traction motor for driving the traction mechanism, a cable connection for connecting the mining vehicle to an external source of electric energy, and an electric power link between the cable connection and the traction motor for conveying electric energy from said cable connection to said traction motor. The electric power link includes a DC power link. The mining vehicle also includes a traction DC/AC converter for converting DC power from the DC power link into AC power for feeding into the traction motor.

  • Patent number: 10367498
Abstract: An electronic device includes at least one electronic component, a gradient heat-flux sensor GHFS based on thermoelectric anisotropy and conducting heat generated by the electronic component, and a controller adapted to manage electrical current of the electronic component at least partly on the basis of an electrical control signal generated by the gradient heat-flux sensor and proportional to a heat-flux through the gradient heat-flux sensor. Therefore, the electrical current and thereby also the heat generation of the electronic component are managed directly on the basis of the heat-flux generated by the electronic component. Thus, the electrical current can be managed without a need for voltage and current measurements which may be challenging to be carried out with a sufficient bandwidth especially when the switching frequency of the electronic component is on a range from hundreds of kHz to few MHz.
