  • Patent number: 6494187
Abstract: The apparatus and method of regulating a control valve for a Diesel injection system comprises a fuel injector having a pressure amplifier preceded by the control valve (10), the slide (20) of the control valve (10) being moved by two spatially separated magnet coils (30, 32). During an electrical triggering of one of the two magnet coils (30, 32) with a control current, the respective other magnet coil (32, 30) is switched as a sensor, detecting the current induced in the sensor by a motion of the valve slide (20).

Date of Patent: December 17, 2002
    Assignee: Siemens Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Raimondo Giavi, Reda Rizk
  • Patent number: 6463914
Abstract: The regulating member according to the present invention is arranged in a pressure line in a fuel injector with a pressure intensifier and has an actuator, a valve chamber and a spring-loaded valve piston arranged moveably in the valve chamber. The valve piston, in its position of rest, makes a flow connection through the valve chamber between a pressure supply and a control space of the pressure intensifier and, in its switching position, the valve piston makes a flow connection through the valve chamber in which the control space in the pressure intensifier is relieved of pressure.

  • Patent number: 6345605
Abstract: A configuration for amplifying fuel pressure for a fuel injector includes a pressure amplifier having a control space on a low-pressure side, a working space on a high-pressure side, and a moveable ram disposed between the control and working spaces. The control space is connected to an accumulator through a pressure line, and the working space is connected to a fuel line. The device includes an actuator connected to a servovalve for changing between an actuated switched state and an unactuated initial state. In the pressure line is the servovalve between the pressure supply and the control space, which opens the pressure line in the unactuated initial state, and interrupts the pressure line and keeps unpressurized the control space in the actuated switched state.

  • Patent number: 6283154
Abstract: A control valve contains a housing with an inlet connection, an outlet connection and a return connection. A first seat valve with a first valve body and a second seat valve with a second valve body are disposed in the housing. The first seat valve is disposed between the outlet connection and the return connection and is normally closed and the second seat valve is disposed between the inlet connection and the outlet connection and is normally open. The second valve body is disposed coaxially in the first valve body.

  • Patent number: 6194812
Abstract: A device for transmitting a deflection of a piezoelectric actuator to a movable tappet includes a pressure chamber between the piezoelectric actuator and the tappet. The pressure chamber is substantially formed by two mutually parallel diaphragms having effective radii of different lengths. The diaphragm with the longer radius is associated with the piezoelectric actuator and the diaphragm with the shorter radius is associated with the tappet. Therefore, upon a deflection of the first diaphragm by the piezoelectric actuator, the second diaphragm is deflected by a greater distance toward the tappet. A controller with an actuator having a controllable length is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6066912
Abstract: A mechanical force transmitter converts the deformation of a piezoelectric actuator into a linear movement of a final control element. The transmission is via configuration of two mutually inclined working surfaces and a movable mechanical element disposed between the inclined working surfaces.
