  • Publication number: 20070274832
Abstract: A rotor for a turbo machine, in particular for a gas turbine, is disclosed. The rotor includes a rotor base body and several rotor blades arranged over the circumference of the rotor base body, in which case the rotor base body is manufactured of an MMC composite material, and in which case the rotor blades are an integral part of the rotor. The rotor base body is configured in the shape of a ring, in which case the ring-shaped rotor base body includes, in a radially internal section, at least one groove-like recess which is filled radially on the inside with fibers exhibiting tensile strength.

  • Publication number: 20070202000
Abstract: A method for manufacturing components, preferably of a gas turbine, by powder injection molding is disclosed. In powder injection molding, first a metal powder is combined with a binder to form a homogeneous mass, and then at least one molded article is manufactured from the homogeneous mass by injection molding and the molded body or each molded body is then subjected to a debinding process. The molded body or each molded body is compacted by sintering to yield at least one component having the desired geometric properties. Several molded articles are joined together by a diffusion process during sintering to manufacture a component. The molded articles to be joined together are preferably brought into surface contact, especially into form-fitting surface contact, at least during sintering on sections that are to be joined together. A pressure is applied to the molded articles to be joined together during sintering.

  • Patent number: 5032353
Abstract: Structural components of at least one intermetallc compound and having complicated contours, are made by the steps of preparing a powder mixture of elemental metal powders including at least one powder of a low melting metal element or component and one powder of a high melting metal element or component that subsequently are to form the intermetallic compound. The powder mixture is then sintered to form a sintered body which is machined to a contour close to the finished contour and to dimensions close to the final dimensions. The so machined and shaped part is enveloped with an envelope of the high melting metal element or component. The enveloped part is subjected to a hot isostatic reaction pressing whereby the intermetallic compound is formed.

  • Patent number: 4769092
Abstract: Device for the differential cooling or temperature control of inside and outside walls or wall areas of a component, more particularly of a turbomachine component. The device has nozzle arrays or spray pipes under locally separate and/or phased control for the admission of thermally controlled medium. Use of various media and differential temperatures and pressures. Transportation of the component from treatment station to treatment station in its passage.
