  • Patent number: 9833547
Abstract: The invention relates to a drug-coated balloon catheter and to a method for producing the same. The balloon of the catheter includes (i) a main membrane, and (ii) an asymmetrical polymer membrane which is applied to an outside of the main membrane and into which at least one pharmaceutical active ingredient is introduced.

  • Publication number: 20160074632
Abstract: A balloon catheter includes a drug-coated balloon having an uncoated region free from drug coating, a displaceable protective sleeve covering the drug-coated balloon and an elongate catheter body that has a distal end and a proximal end. Another catheter has an uncoated region and/or an additional uncoated balloon is on the catheter body. The uncoated balloon or the additional uncoated balloon are mounted to be exposed first when the sleeve is displaced. This blocks blood flow while the drug coated balloon or balloon region is inflated to avoid or minimize release of drug into the blood stream away from the site of treatment.

  • Patent number: 9060893
Abstract: The invention relates to a delivery system for a medical device and a method for operating a delivery system for a medical device, in particular a stent having a proximal end and a distal end, an inner shaft enclosing an inner lumen and an outer shaft surrounding the inner shaft in at least some areas and enclosing an intermediate lumen. One or more openings are provided in the inner shaft establishing a fluid connection between the inner lumen and the intermediate lumen.

  • Publication number: 20140296961
Abstract: A medical implant has a compressed and expanded state with an open-worked, preferably hollow-cylindrical main structure composed of a plurality of crosspieces, of which at least two are interconnected in each case at node elements. In the compressed state, even with complicated movements of the implant, for example when inserted into a vessel, at least one first barrier element is provided at each of a plurality of first node elements and at least one second barrier element is provided at each of a plurality of second node elements in each case adjacent to a respective first node element, such that a first barrier element and a respective adjacent second barrier element in each case lock together as the implant transitions from the expanded state into the compressed state, preferably during crimping, and thus inhibit the transition back in to the expanded state, so the barrier opposes a force in the circumferential direction and opposes a force in the radial direction.

  • Patent number: 8778006
Abstract: A delivery system having a release mechanism (70) for releasing an object (12), in particular, a supporting body, which is carried by the catheter (20), whereby the catheter (20) has at least one outer shaft (50) which is relatively displaceable toward the object (12) to release the object (12). The catheter (20) has a winding device (100) on its proximal end (24) which winds up a proximal section (52) of the outer shaft (50) to create a relative displacement of the outer shaft (50).

  • Publication number: 20120289972
Abstract: A handheld device for the operation of an application system for stent implantation comprising an adapter for connection to an introducer sheath or a guide catheter, through which a wire or catheter can be inserted into a vessel. The adapter is in the form of a telescopic tube.

  • Publication number: 20110208284
Abstract: A protective sleeve for a medical device including a main body which has a distal end and a proximal end and on the lateral surface of which at least one stop element is disposed, which during insertion of the protective sleeve into an introducer limits the insertion depth of the protective sleeve into the introducer and which preferably is disposed at the distal end of the main body.
