  • Patent number: 5192099
Abstract: A roller skate brake in which the wheel support which rotatably couples the skate's wheels to the boot is slotted, allowing the support to flex when the skater bears down with the heel. Such flexing compresses the support, forcing a brake shoe against the skate's rear wheel. The braking force varies in proportion to the applied force, and is released when the skater stops bearing down. A roller skate starter aids initial propulsion of a roller skate's wheels. The starter incorporates a restraining mechanism which prevents reverse rotation of the skate's toe wheel, while allowing forward rotation thereof.

  • Patent number: 4771544
Abstract: Vehicle body measuring apparatus having first and second extendible members for positioning on opposed sides of a vehicle body. A longitudinal member is connectible between the upper ends of the first and second members. First and second pointers are slidably mountable on the longitudinal member. Connecting means are provided for pivotally connecting the first and second members relative to the vehicle body and clamping means are provided for clamping the first and second members in a fixed position relative to opposed sides of the vehicle body.

  • Patent number: 4606216
Abstract: A clamping device comprises a clamping means disposed towards an upper end of the device for clamping to a vehicle body and a securing means disposed towards a lower end of the device for releasably securing first and second transverse support members. The device is clamped to a vehicle body and supports the vehicle body in a fixed position above the transverse support members.Vehicle clamping and support apparatus includes four such clamping devices. One pair of clamping devices is clamped to opposite, rear undersides of the vehicle body. The other pair of clamping devices is clamped to opposite, front undersides of the vehicle body. First and second support members are then slideably positioned along the lateral undersides of the vehicle by slideably engaging the support members with the clamping devices clamped along each side of the vehicle. Third and fourth support members slideably engage the front and rear clamping device pairs, respectively, transversely to the first and second support members.

  • Patent number: 4539758
Abstract: Measuring apparatus for use in vehicle collision repair work. The measuring apparatus comprises first and second telescopic extension members each having a first end for affixation, respectively, at first and second reference points. A cross-member is connectible between the second ends of the extension members. Indicator means are provided on each extension member for indicating displacement between the extension member first and second ends. Alignment means are also provided for aligning the extension member second ends on opposite sides of the vehicle center line and at equal distances from that center line. Third and fourth indicator means are also provided for indicating, respectively, the vertical height of third and fourth reference points above a reference line defined by the extension member second ends. The third and fourth indicator means also indicate, respectively, horizontal displacement of the third and fourth reference points from the vehicle center line.
