  • Publication number: 20190086319
Abstract: Methods of evaluating a cellular sample for HER-2/neu expression are provided. Aspects of the methods include flow cytometrically obtaining fluorescence emission data from a cellular sample fluorescently labelled HER-2/neu specific binding member and employing the sample fluorescence emission data with standard fluorescence emission data to obtain a value of fluorescently labelled HER-2/neu specific binding members bound per cell.

  • Publication number: 20150153345
Abstract: The subject invention provides an antibody composition for detecting E6 protein of at least one HPV strain in a sample. The subject antibodies may be used to detect oncogenic HPV E6 proteins in a sample, and the antibodies find use in a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic applications, including methods of diagnosing and treating cancer. Kits for performing the subject methods and containing the subject antibodies are also provided. Also disclosed in the present invention is a method of generating an antibody that specifically binds to amino-terminus of E6 proteins of at least two HPV strains.

  • Publication number: 20060029956
Abstract: Methods and compositions for identifying ovarian cancer in a patient sample are provided. The methods of the invention comprise detecting overexpression of at least one biomarker in a body sample, wherein the biomarker is selectively overexpressed in ovarian cancer. In preferred embodiments, the body sample is a serum sample. The biomarkers of the invention include any genes or proteins that are selectively overexpressed in ovarian cancer, including, for example, acute phase reactants, lipoproteins, proteins involved in the regulation of the complement system, regulators of apoptosis, proteins that bind hemoglobin, heme, or iron, cytostructural proteins, enzymes that detoxify metabolic byproducts, growth factors, and hormone transporters. In some aspects of the invention, overexpression of a biomarker of interest is detected at the protein level using biomarker-specific antibodies or at the nucleic acid level using nucleic acid hybridization techniques.

  • Publication number: 20030175810
Abstract: A method and system for assaying P2Y receptors. The method allows for direct detection of ligand binding events with a high signal to noise ratio. The ability to quantify binding events involving the P2Y receptor has heretofore been unavailable due to unavoidable non-selective binding of a radioligand or other traditional probes. A cell-free system for the study of P2Y receptors including a P2Y receptor; optionally, a protein that is normally associated with the P2Y receptor in nature; and a vesicle, is also disclosed.
