  • Patent number: 6425866
Abstract: A device for detecting embolus uses ultrasonic signals reflected on a fluid flow in a body. The device features a first ultrasonic unit for receiving a first signal generated in a first position in a vessel and a second ultrasonic unit for additional reception of a second signal generated in a second position in the body. The device also features a detector unit for detecting the embolus. The detector unit is triggered only if the time interval between the characteristic changes in the first and second signal, corresponding to a possible embolus, exceeds a minimum value, or if the characteristic signal change occurs in one of the signals only.

  • Patent number: 6344024
Abstract: The invention relates to an ultrasound probe for use especially in medical diagnostics using ultrasonography. Said probe comprises an ultrasound sensor configured to generate an ultrasound send signal as a reaction to an electrical impulse and to receiving a receive signal reflected on an observation medium. Said ultrasound sensor is held in a supporting device and fitted with coupling and transmission devices for sending the transmission signal into the observation medium. Said transmission signal is a multifrequency signal comprising at least two individual signals which are separate from each other in the frequency range. Said probe also comprises means to evaluate the reflected receive signal in relation to the individual signals. The ultrasound sensor has a single crystal for generating signals, which crystal is simultaneously and in a synchronized manner impinged upon by the multifrequency signal with several carrier frequencies in the proximity of its resonance frequency.

  • Patent number: 5167165
Abstract: A device for positioning a measuring element is provided in which the measuring element is suspended by two parallelogram linkage systems in a pivotable manner, the parallelogram linkage systems being arranged at an angle relative to one another. Each lever of the parallelogram linkage systems is provided with a ball joint and is drivingly connected via the ball joint to a respective threaded spindle. The threaded spindles are drivable by a reversible stationary stepping motor. With this arrangement it is possible for the measuring element to perform planar and circular movements in addition to the commonly performed pivoting movements. Furthermore, an adjustment of the pivoting point is possible, and each individual lever of the parallelogram linkage system may be adjusted individually.
