  • Patent number: 11674600
Abstract: An assembly, more particularly a turbomachine, includes a shaft, which extends along an axis, a shaft seal device for sealing an annular gap between the shaft and a stator in order to seal a process fluid chamber in relation to the environment. The shaft seal device has a ferrofluid shaft seal. At the process fluid chamber, the shaft seal device includes, in addition to the ferrofluid shaft seal, an additional shaft seal. The ferrofluid shaft seal is arranged at the annular gap axially between the first shaft seal and the environment. A pressure sink is provided at the annular gap axially between the additional shaft seal and the ferrofluid shaft seal.

  • Patent number: 10837454
Abstract: A turbomachine having a rotor that extends along a rotational axis and a radial bearing in which the rotor is radially mounted on a radial bearing point. In the axial region of the radial bearing point, the rotor has a hollow chamber annularly located in the circumferential direction in the region of the outer 20% of the diameter of the radial bearing point and which is thermally insulating between a radially inner core region of the rotor in the region of the radial bearing point and the radial outer region of the rotor in the region of the radial bearing point. A first shaft end of the rotor protrudes from the axial center of the radial bearing point by a projection over the radial bearing point, wherein a first quotient QLO of the projection OVH divided by the total length TLE of the rotor QLO=OVH/TLE>0.15.

  • Patent number: 8137081
Abstract: A compressor unit for underwater operation is provided. The compressor unit includes a compressor having a compressor rotor and a plurality of compressor stages. The compressor unit also includes an electric motor having a stator, a motor rotor, and a gastight housing which is provided with an inlet and an outlet. The motor rotor has two radial bearings, namely a first radial bearing and a second radial bearing, each arranged at the ends of the motor rotor. The compressor rotor has two radial bearings, namely a third radial bearing and a fourth radial bearing, each arranged at the ends of the compressor rotor. A coupling which transmits torque is arranged between the two rotors. The above arrangement provides a remedy for vibrations for especially large compressor units.

  • Publication number: 20090220362
Abstract: The invention relates to a compressor unit, in particular for underwater operation, comprising a compressor with a compressor rotor which has one or more compressor stages, and also comprising an electric motor with a stator and a motor rotor, and comprising a gastight housing which is provided with an inlet and an outlet. Such compressor units in a large embodiment are especially susceptible to vibrations. The invention provides a remedy hereby virtue of the fact that the motor rotor has two radial bearings, a first radial bearing and a second radial bearing, each arranged at the end, that the compressor rotor has two radial bearings, a third radial bearing and a fourth radial bearing, each arranged at the end, and that a coupling which transmits torque is arranged between the two rotors.
