  • Publication number: 20110015519
Abstract: In a method and medical system for positionally correct association of an image data set of a patient, obtained with the medical system, and an N-coordinate system of an electromagnetic navigation system, before a medical procedure at least one sensor coil is attached to the imaging system, and a transformation matrix between the image data set and the sensor coil is determined. During the medical procedure, the image data set is acquired, and the current position of the sensor coil is determined. The image data set is associated in a positionally correct manner with the N-coordinate system based on the known position of the sensor coil relative to the imaging system, and the transformation matrix.

  • Patent number: 7742569
Abstract: In an x-ray system and a method for image composition, congruent optical images and x-ray images of subjects provided with markers are generated. A transformation matrix/imaging matrix is formed and applied to the congruent x-ray images based on the detected identical markers in optical images. The transformation matrix is used to compose an aggregate image from the x-ray images.

  • Publication number: 20100030022
Abstract: A medical system has an endoscopy system and an extracorporeal imaging system and a patient positioning device. The endoscopy system includes an intracorporeally movable capsule that is navigable within the body of a patient by a magnetic coil system within a tube-like working volume formed by the magnetic coil system. An encapsulated imaging unit in the endoscopy capsule obtains image data associated with a medical finding. The spatial coordinates of the medical finding identified by the encapsulated imaging unit are relayed to the extracorporeal image acquisition system to allow an extracorporeal image to be obtained based on those spatial coordinates.

  • Patent number: 7634056
Abstract: In an imaging acquisition system and method, successive x-ray images and successive optical images are respectively acquired from an examination subject. Positional identifiers associated with the examination subject are detected in the optical images, and acquisition of respective x-ray images is triggered only when the identifiers are detected in the optical images. The number of acquired x-ray images is therefore substantially fewer than the number of acquired optical images, and the x-ray images can be acquired with substantially no overlap, thereby avoiding exposing the examination subject to unnecessary radiation.

  • Patent number: 7597473
Abstract: An X-ray recording device has an X-ray detector and an X-ray emitter aligned with one another on a mobile supporting device, the supporting device being supported by retainer on a stand unit and being displaceable along a horizontal translation axis and/or vertical translation axis. The retainer has only one first pivoting arm rotatably mounted on the stand unit for rotation around a first vertical rotational axis and only one second pivoting arm rotatably mounted on the first pivoting arm for rotation around a second vertical rotational axis. • Publication number: 20090141958
Abstract: In an imaging system and method for preparing x-ray images and optical images, at least two x-ray images of an examination subject are acquired by emitting x-rays from at least two different x-ray image acquisition points in space. At least two optical exposures are acquired from the examination subject at respective optical exposure origination points that respectively optically correspond to the x-ray image acquisition points. The optical exposures and the x-ray images are superimposed so that each optical image is superimposed with the x-ray image that originated from an x-ray image origination point corresponding to the optical exposure origination point of that optical exposure.

  • Publication number: 20090097615
Abstract: In a device and method for processing and presenting x-ray images, an x-ray image of a subject is acquired with an x-ray acquisition cone simultaneously with the acquisition of an optical exposure of the examination subject with an optical acquisition cone that is congruent with the x-ray acquisition cone. The subject in the optical exposure is subjected to segmentation and/or edge extraction, and the extracted optical exposure and the x-ray image are additively combined so that the subject edges from the optical exposure are inserted into the x-ray image.

  • Patent number: 7491940
Abstract: In a device for capturing high energy radiation emitted from a radiation source within an examination object with a detector, the detector is arranged on a carriage mechanism that is mounted in a rotatable fashion around the examination object. The carriage mechanism is supported on a stand unit via a retaining mechanism, with an amplifier device being provided that amplifies the signals coming from the detector that are fed to the amplifier device via a signal guidance device. A data processing device is provided to process the amplified signals. By arranging the amplifier device and/or the data processing device essentially within the stand unit, a device is provided which can be flexibly utilized and which increases the patient's comfort during an examination.

  • Publication number: 20080255409
Abstract: In a method for improving profitability of a medical procedure supervised through a medical facility, the medical procedure including ingestion of an endoscopy capsule by a patient of the medical facility, the endoscopy capsule is retrieved after being naturally voided by the patient after the endoscopy capsule traverses the gastrointestinal tract of the patient, and a reward is paid to a person who returns the retrieved endoscopy capsule to a location associated with the medical facility. An endoscopy capsule usable with this procedure has a capsule body containing medical data-gathering components, and an exchangeable cover that covers the capsule body that is formed of a material allowing removal of the cover after the capsule has passed through the gastrointestinal tract of the patient, so that a new cover can be provided on the capsule body.

  • Publication number: 20080249359
Abstract: An endoscopy system has an endo-robot that is navigable within an anatomical lumen of a patient by interacting with a magnetic field generated by an extracorporeal magnet system. The patient lies on a patient bed that is movable in one or more directions and/or orientations, and an obstacle detects objects in the movement path of the endo-robot in the anatomical lumen and produces a signal that causes the position and/or orientation of the patient bed to be altered dependent thereon.

  • Patent number: 7340291
Abstract: A medical apparatus has a data processing device for storing an image dataset of the body of a subject and a navigation system for determining the position of a medical instrument relative to the body of the subject. At least one bone fragment is shown in the image represented by the image dataset, the image of the one bone fragment being segmented with a computer. The bone fragment is to be grasped and set with the medical instrument. The data processing device also determines the modified position of the bone fragment on the basis of the position of the medical instrument relative to the body of the subject determined with the navigation system, and displays the modified position in the image.

  • Publication number: 20070211847
Abstract: In a method for recording radiological projection data sets of an object under examination, a number of two-dimensional projection data sets of the object under examination being recorded, which are characterized by an axis of rotation having a spatial position, with a projection data set being obtained from an x-ray beam penetrating the object under examination, which essentially diffuses at a right angle to the axis of rotation. By changing the spatial position of the axis of rotation between the recording of two successive projection data sets, increases the versatility of the x-ray device increased, in particular for a movable x-ray device, and the image quality of the spatial representations that are reconstructed from the projection data sets is improved.
