  • Publication number: 20130061948
Abstract: The invention relates to a valve arrangement (2) for metering a fluid medium into an exhaust line (22), comprising a valve seat (10) which acts together with a closing body (12) and in which a valve passage (14) is implemented, and a perforated disc (6) that is disposed downstream of the valve seat, closes off the valve passage, and has at least one axial hole (8) in the area of the valve passage through which the fluid medium can be injected into the exhaust line (22). The valve arrangement further comprises a connecting flange (16) for connecting the valve arrangement (2) to the exhaust line (22) in a fluid-tight manner, wherein the perforated disc (6) extends from the valve passage to the connecting flange and is implemented such that said perforated disc seals the connecting flange against the exhaust line in a fluid-tight manner in the installed state. A separate seal is thus no longer required, because the perforated disc performs the sealing function.

  • Publication number: 20130048120
Abstract: The invention relates to a device (40) for reducing pollutants, in particular nitrogen oxides, in an exhaust gas flow of an internal combustion engine, comprising a reducing agent (46), in particular a urea-water solution, which is stored in a storage tank (42), a metering module, in particular a nozzle (68), for injecting the reducing agent (46) into the exhaust gas flow, and a pump (56, 100) for delivering the reducing agent (46) from a suction point (62) in the storage tank (42) to the metering module via lines (58, 66). According to the invention, the pump (56, 100) lies beneath a reducing agent level (44) in the storage tank (42), and a non-return valve is provided. As a result of the non-return valve, the device (40) is prevented from refilling with the reducing agent (46) after the reducing agent (46) is completely sucked back from the device (40) after shutting off the internal combustion engine, in particular after extended idle times of the internal combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 8371107
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the regeneration, temperature loading and/or thermal management of a component, assigned to an exhaust system, of an internal combustion engine. The device includes at least one injection valve which injects a fluid, in particular fuel, into the exhaust system, preferably in chatter mode, for example as a function of the pressure of the supplied fluid. The injection valve has a valve head and a valve seat which have geometries designed in such a way that a fluidic force of the supplied fluid acting on the injection valve drops continuously over a stroke of the valve head. The invention also relates to an injection valve having such valve-head and valve-seat geometries and to a corresponding method for the regeneration, temperature loading and/or thermal management of a component, assigned to an exhaust system, of an internal combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 8225598
Abstract: A metering device for introducing liquid reducing agent into an exhaust gas pipe. A metering valve is supplied with contents from a working tank by a delivery unit and dispenses the tank contents in a discharge direction. The delivery unit establishes a negative pressure between the delivery unit and the metering valve when the delivery direction is reversed. The negative pressure causes gas to be drawn off through the metering valve against the discharge direction. The delivery direction is reversed by either a feed pump with a reversible effective direction or a feed pump and a repolarization valve which communicates with the feed pump and transposes an inlet and an outlet of the feed pump.
