  • Publication number: 20050039584
Abstract: A rotating shearing device for cropping fast-running rolling stock, in particular wire, with two axially cutting annular knives which rotate about their axis at the same rotational speed with end cutting edges directed toward one another. The cutting edges converge to the clearance necessary for separating the rolling stock during a cutting operation and lie in planes which are arranged at an acute angle to one another. Rolling stock is guided to the shearing device by a front guide and from the shearing device by a rear guide. The running stock may be guided either through the space between the annular knives which is free for the cut-free passage of the rolling stock or into the wedge-shaped cutting region of the annular knives which is defined by the gripping angle. The front guide is pivotable, the rear guide is fixed and the shearing device is raisable and lowerable in relation to the rear guide.

  • Publication number: 20020074699
Abstract: A water cooling stretch for cooling rolling stock coming from a roll train has several parallel and adjacently positioned cooling pipes having different diameters matching differently sized rolling stock. The cooling pipes are made of individual cooling pipe sections arranged successively in a straight cooling pipe arrangement, respectively. A cooling water supply of individual cooling head nozzle elements supplies the cooling water to the cooling pipe sections. Valve arrangements for controlling the supply of cooling water are provided. The cooling pipe arrangement has individual water box modules arranged between the cooling pipe sections, and the cooling pipe sections have inlet and outlet openings that open into the water box modules. The water box modules are fastened to a common water supply line moveable horizontally and transversely to a movement path of the rolling stock for moving the cooling pipe arrangements into and out of the movement path, as needed.

  • Patent number: 6145421
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for sorting out short lengths in light-section finishing lines, including a cutting device, for example, a cold shear, which has a cutting plane, wherein the cutting device is followed by a driven roller conveyor with a length stop which can be removed preferably by being lifted and is adjustable to the desired length. The rolling stock resting against the length stop is held after cutting to length in the cutting device until the short lengths have been conveyed away by the driven roller conveyor after lifting the length stop.
