  • Patent number: 10683048
Abstract: An electric bicycle has an electric motor and an electric energy store for supplying energy to the electric motor. Accordingly, the bicycle has a first controller coupled to the electric motor and is configured to store a first keycode. The bicycle has a second controller coupled to the energy store and is configured to store a second keycode. The controllers are connected or can be connected to a data transmission system, which is a bus. The first and second controllers are configured such that at least one specified controller of the controllers receives the keycode of the other controller. The specified controller is configured to determine whether its keycode matches the received keycode of the other controller using specified criteria. An immobilizer for an electric bicycle can be formed from these components.

  • Patent number: 7540148
Abstract: A method and a device for operating at least one supercharger of an internal combustion engine is described, the actuating signal for at least one actuating element of the supercharger (waste gate actuator, electrical auxiliary compressor) being generated as a function of the exhaust gas volume flow in the exhaust tract of the internal combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 7146268
Abstract: A method and a device for operating an internal combustion engine having exhaust-gas recirculation are provided, which make it possible to dispense with an ambient-pressure sensor. In this context, an intake-manifold pressure and an ambient pressure are modeled. The intake-manifold pressure is modeled as a function of the modeled ambient pressure. The intake-manifold pressure is also measured. The modeled intake-manifold pressure is compared to the measured intake-manifold pressure. The modeled ambient pressure is adapted as a function of the comparison result. The modeled ambient pressure is adapted only when the exhaust-gas recirculation is inactive.

  • Patent number: 6983597
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and an arrangement for controlling an internal combustion engine (1) having a compressor (5) for compressing the air drawn in by suction by the engine (1). The compressor is especially an exhaust-gas turbocharger. With the method and arrangement, a requirement-proper and timely opening of a valve (10) of an air path (15) is ensured for avoiding compressor pumping. The air path (15) bypasses the compressor (5). The valve (10) of the air path (15), which bypasses the compressor (5), is controlled in dependence upon at least one pregiven characteristic line (20, 25) of a compressor characteristic field.
