  • Patent number: 9567011
Abstract: A stiffening arrangement (22) for a forward structure (10) of a motor vehicle has a mounting bracket (20) for mounting a motor vehicle radiator. A shear field (24) is connected to the mounting bracket (20) to dissipate shear forces. A right stiffening strut (28) connects the shear field (24) to a right suspension-strut dome (16) and supports the mounting bracket (20) on the right suspension-strut dome (16), and a left stiffening strut (30) connects the shear field (24) to a left suspension-strut dome (18) and supports the mounting bracket (20) on the left suspension-strut dome (18). Thus, a major part of the crumple zone of the forward structure (10) provided for a frontal crash can be utilized, so that the risk of damage to engine components in an engine bay of the forward structure (10) is reduced and vibrational comfort for the driver is improved.

  • Patent number: 8708403
Abstract: For the reinforcement of a front section of a motor vehicle, a transverse beam is arranged between longitudinal beams of the body structure at the front side. The transverse beam is situated above the longitudinal beams and is adjoined by in each case one lattice girder. Each lattice girder extends in the longitudinal direction of the longitudinal beams and is connected at one side to the transverse beam and at the other side to a suspension unit mount.

  • Patent number: 8348335
Abstract: A passenger car configured as a convertible, with an underbody, which has a middle tunnel, and with a cockpit carrier, on which a steering column carrying a steering handwheel is mounted. Driving comfort can be increased if the cockpit carrier is attached solely to the middle tunnel fixedly in three directions perpendicular to one another.

  • Publication number: 20080185875
Abstract: A front-end structure of a motor vehicle has a stiffening part which runs in the transverse direction of the vehicle. The stiffening part is in a form of a sheet-like cast part and is fixedly connected on each of the longitudinal end sides to a spring strut dome of the motor vehicle and on its longitudinal side to a cowl.

  • Patent number: 5810393
Abstract: A steering column support for a motor vehicle includes a steering column unit, a cross member supporting the steering column unit, at least one reinforcing strut connected with the cross member, and a receiving element for a knee restraint connected with the reinforcing strut(s) and the steering column unit. The steering column support controls and prevent undesirable vibration of the steering wheel.

  • Patent number: 5454443
Abstract: For avoiding torsional vibrations of the vehicle body, the motor vehicle of the present invention uses a drive assembly as an absorber which is held via three bearings in the vehicle body. The bearings having a characteristic which determines a high natural frequency of the assembly roll mode and is modulated precisely to the vehicle body torsion and has a low vertical bearing stiffness.

  • Patent number: 5253919
Abstract: A damper is provided on a convertible for the dampling of bodyside torsional vibrations in the area of the windshield frame. This damper is arranged particularly on the frame of the windshield and is held by way of elastic slide bearings. The damper is arranged in the open at a distance from the frame and can swing relatively freely in the transverse directions of the vehicle so that natural torsional frequencies of the vehicle on the frame are damped.
