  • Publication number: 20230257057
Abstract: The invention relates to a clamping device (1) for fixing a wheelchair drive unit to a wheelchair frame. The clamping device (1) comprises a lever element (4), a first clamping jaw (2), a second clamping jaw (3) and a clamping jaw holder (5). The first clamping jaw (2) and the second clamping jaw (3) are movably mounted on the clamping jaw holder (5) via a jaw path (D0-D2) between an open position (D0) and a closed position (D2). The lever element (4) is movably coupled to the first clamping jaw (2) and the second clamping jaw (3) via a lever path (SH) such that a movement of the lever element (4) along the lever path (SH) causes the clamping jaws (2, 3) to move along the jaw path (D0-D2).

  • Patent number: 11246773
Abstract: A folding wheelchair is disclosed having a frame with two side portions, a seat and a folding mechanism. The folding mechanism has coupling connections, pivoting connections and a cross-strut with two bars crossing at a pivot point. First ends of each of the cross-strut bars are mounted rotatably on the side portions of the frame via the pivoting connections. Second ends of each of the cross-strut bars are releasably mounted on the other of the two side portions of the frame via the coupling connections. A distance between the frame side portions may be modified if the cross-strut bars second ends are released from the frame side portions. The cross-strut bars are pivoted relative to each other about the pivot point. The cross-strut extends from the first ends to the second ends of the bars in a cross-strut direction which, in the operating position, extends substantially along the seat.

  • Patent number: 7896376
Abstract: The wheelchair comprises a seat and two main wheels connected by an axle. A support device, comprising an exchangeable intermediate element consisting of an elastomer element located in the lacuna provided by the spiral turns of a spring, is detachably fixed at one of its end to a chassis of the seat and at its other end to the axle through a center part attached to the middle part of the axle. The center part is arranged to receive the rear ends of the two left and right main frame tubes of the wheelchair.

  • Patent number: 6311999
Abstract: The wheelchair (10) has a closed, three-dimensional frame (12). The latter is constituted by a front horizontal transverse support (12.1), two lateral supports (12.2, 12.3), which are arranged symmetrically in respect to the longitudinal center axis, and a rear, essentially horizontal transverse support (14). The lateral supports have the shape of a letter L with respectively an upright leg (12.2), which laterally adjoins the front transverse support (12.1), and with a rearward oriented longitudinal leg (12.3). A front wheel support (25), on which a front wheel (24) is mounted, is fastened on each upright leg (12.2) of the longitudinal supports.

  • Publication number: 20010011805
Abstract: A wheelchair (10), preferably with three wheels (18, 24), with a front wheel support (12.1) embodied as a transverse support. The front wheel support (12.1), together with two inclined supports (12.2), which adjoin its ends and are oriented backward and upward, forms a U-like integral support, which is connected with an axle tube (14) of the rear wheels (18). A wheelchair (10) with a seat (52), which has adjustably inclined lateral longitudinal seat supports (56). The longitudinal seat supports (56) are connected with longitudinal supports (12.3), which are inclined rearward and downward, of the frame of the wheelchair (10) indirectly by their front ends, and connected by their rear ends via seat struts (72) with adjustable effective strut length with said longitudinal supports (12.3).

  • Patent number: 5758897
Abstract: A collapsible wheelchair (10) with two lateral supports (12, 13) on which respectively a drive wheel (18, 19) and respectively a running wheel (20, 21) are fastened and which are rigidly connected by a main transverse support (34) and an auxiliary transverse support (32). The former is constituted by two legs (38, 39) connected a hinge joint, which can be arrested on each other by an arresting device. The latter has an arresting protrusion (56) hinged on one leg (38). The arresting protrusion runs up on the stop face (62) respectively located opposite it, which is a section of a stop area (64) formed on the other leg (39). At least one of the legs (38, 39) can be advanced in the direction toward the longitudinal center surface of the collapsible wheelchair (10) by an advancement device.

  • Patent number: 4852899
Abstract: By adjusting two telescoping-type interengaging shiftable parts for each of two frame bars (3,4) of a support frame (2) of a lightweight wheelchair (1), the sitting position of the same can be adjusted with respect to the seat surface (5) and with it the adjustment of the center of gravity can be dynamically adjusted with respect to the user. Additional adjustment possibilities by means of each support element (17) at the right and left sides of the seat surface (5) with respect to the rear axle as well as corresponding clamping devices for the front wheels (9,10) on the frame (2) allow a very precise user-compatibility in this lightweight wheel chair. Additionally a backrest (6) can be collapsed with respect to the seat surface (5) by means of handles (20) pivotally connected with the frame bars, to thereby permit the lightweight wheelchair (1) to be compactly folded up for transportation purposes.
