  • Patent number: 5494316
Abstract: A safety belt for a rear seat system of a motor vehicle includes three-point belts. Upper deflector points, provided at shoulder level of the back-seat passengers, are mounted on a deflector element disposed next to the middle of the vehicle. In order to be able to provide three-point belts in the region of the rear seat system in a motor vehicle which has a folding convertible top such that the belts are usable without restriction in both the open (folded) and the closed (unfolded) positions of the convertible top, a support frame is disposed between the side-by side-seats of the rear seat system. Deflector elements provided at shoulder level of the back-seat passengers are mounted on this support frame.

  • Patent number: 5050906
Abstract: A safety belt system comprises a belt strap at which locally an energy absorption member is provided which is formed by a belt strap section which is folded together at least once and is sewn together. So that the occupant of the seat or the repair shop, even after a minor accident, is informed as to whether the safety belt system must be exchanged, a marking is mounted at the belt strap adjacent to the energy absorption member in such a manner that, when the energy absorption system is intact, the marking is invisible to the occupant of the seat or the repair shop, whereas when the seam is at least partially ripped open, the marking is within view.

  • Patent number: 4770439
Abstract: An impact protection system for an occupant of a motor vehicle with a prefabricated constructional unit that is fastened at parts of the vehicle body and which includes a generator housing, a base plate, a gas cushion, a generator and a cover provided with a tearing seam, is provided with a receiving frame that is adjustably connected with a support part of a dashboard. The prefabricated constructional unit is fastened at the receiving frame. The support partg delimits a recess of the dashboard that is closed off by a recess cover. The cover, via a releasable snap-in connection and an additional fastening, interacts with the receiving frame such that when the gas cushion unfolds, the snap-in connection opens up and the cover, via a desired bending point formed by the receiving frame, is swivelled preferably upward in the direction of a windshield.
