  • Patent number: 5400125
Abstract: A transfer station for an electrographic printer that can be operated in tandem mode for both-sided printing of an elongate recording medium contains a pressure element in the transfer region, the pressure element resiliently pressing the recording medium against the photoconductive drum over its width at least during the transfer process and thereby compensating irregularities of the recording medium. It is constructed multilayer of a plastic foil having a metal foil arranged thereon, this serving the purpose of picking up and eliminating electrostatic charges that occur in the contact region with the recording medium. The caries effect in transfer printing is thereby prevented. The pressure element is replaceably arranged in a holder as a wear part.

  • Patent number: 5124732
Abstract: An electrophotographic printer means contains a process-controlled regulating arrangement for acquiring and regulating the critical operating parameters of the electrophotographic process. It comprises a first regulating stage for stabilizing the electrophotographic process on the photoconductor (12) by regulating the charging potential (18) the discharge illumination (17) and by acquiring and monitoring the residual potential (SL). It further comprises a second regulating stage for assuring and optimizing the development of the charge image by regulating the toner delivery to the developing region (14) and the inking of the charge image, and comprises a third regulating stage for assuring and optimizing the transfer printing by acquiring the specific characteristic quantities of the recording medium and regulating the corona means (UK).

  • Patent number: 5023664
Abstract: An exposure means is provided between a development region and a carrier stripping drum that removes carrier particles, being provided inside the developer station of a non-mechanical fast data printer means. The exposure means illuminates and thereby discharges the highly charged and non-toner-covered regions of the surface of a charge image carrier. The adhesion of negative carrier particles of the developer mix to the non-exposed regions of the surface of the charge image carrier is thus reduced, so that they can be easily stripped from the surface of the charge image carrier by the following carrier stripping drum.

  • Patent number: 4952979
Abstract: An isorunning-counterrunning developer station comprises a plurality of isorunning developer drums moving isodirectionally with the charge image carrier and one counterruning developer drum. A developer mix is offered to the first isorunning developer drum via a paddle wheel proceeding from a supply chamber and is conducted from the first isorunning developer drum to the counterrunning developer drum via further isorunning developer drums. An exposure means composed of a transparent protective tube having a LED strip contained therein is provided above the developer drum, this exposure means being in turn followed by a carrier stripper drum.

  • Patent number: 4737045
Abstract: In a paper stacking device for pre-folded continuous form paper wherein the paper web is supplied to a deposit table from below and the paper stack is built up proceeding from below, a stepping motor is coupled in terms of drive to the feed region, this stepping motor generating the reciprocating stacking motion by reversal of rotational sense, whereby the lift and the motion sequence are controllable via an electronic control device dependent on the form length. The seating surface for the acceptance bands accepting the paper stack is formed by discrete support elements; the deflection rollers themselves thereby serve for taking up the supporting bands. The paper stacking device can be an integrated component of the printer and is pivoted into and out of the latter.

  • Patent number: 4461238
Abstract: In a developer station for an electrophotographic printing or copying machine, there is provided apparatus which affords effective intermixing of carrier and toner particles in the developer mix and which enables the developer mix to be removed from the station prior to replacement in an automatic and simplified fashion. Transport and developer rollers are mounted in the station for conducting developer mix from a supply chamber to communication with a charge image carrier. A pair of rotary screws are disposed in the station on one side of the rollers with conveyance directions opposite to one another for conducting developer mix back and forth through the station enabling fresh toner to blend into the developer mix and maintaining uniform mixing of toner and carrier particles of the mix.
