  • Publication number: 20040114604
Abstract: Two methods are provided for selecting the QoS level during a connection between a first media gateway which is associated with a first subscriber and a first network operation, and a second media gateway which is associated with a second subscriber and possibly a second network operation, either in a packet network via an exchange by a CODEC or in a network via an exchange by a transmission technique. In such methods, the first subscriber and/or the first network operator signals to a first media gateway controller that they would like another QoS. During the first method, a CODEC used in the connection is modified via the first and second media gateways and two media gateway controllers. During the second method, an IP connection is deviated towards a TDM connection, or vice versa, via additional TDM endpoints and the aforementioned components. It is thus possible to adapt the QoS level to the level currently required.

  • Patent number: 5797628
Abstract: A conduit vibration decoupling device, particularly for installation in exhaust conduit systems of internal combustion engines, comprises a pair of axially spaced conduit connector members connected with each other by a flexible bellows-type sealing conduit element, and a force transfer means having at least axial pliancy for transferring forces between the conduit connector members. The force transfer means comprises a housing extending between the conduit connector members along the flexible conduit element and connected near at least one of its axial ends by an articulated spring assembly comprising at least one annular spring element to the associated conduit connector member. The spring element extends around the periphery of the conduit connector member and can be either an annular disk-shaped element or an annular element made of a metallic cable material. The housing may be free of outer protruding parts thereby it may have an outer smooth, cylindrical configuration.

  • Patent number: 4960539
Abstract: Certain fluoromethylphenols, such as 3,5-bis-trifluoromethylphenol, are suitable solvents for LC-polymers. Many LC-polymers which have hitherto been regarded as insoluble in organic solvents can be brought into solution by means of these compounds. The polymers thereby become more easily analyzable and can be processed from solution.
