  • Publication number: 20150317458
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for identifying at least one metabolic conversion step, the modulation of which increases the amount of a metabolite of interest in a plant cell, plant or plant part, said method comprising establishing a stoichiometric network model for the metabolism of the plant cell, plant or plant part including the synthesis pathway for the metabolite of interest, identifying at least one candidate metabolic conversion step by applying at least one algorithm of Growth-coupled Design, and validating the at least one candidate metabolic conversion step by a constraint-based modeling approach in the stoichiometric network model, wherein an increase in the metabolite of interest occurring in said constraint-based modeling approach is indicative for a metabolic conversion step, the modulation of which increases the amount of the metabolite of interest in the plant cell, plant or plant part.

  • Patent number: 7348167
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for producing vitamin E by growing organisms, in particular plants, which have an increased tyrosine aminotransferase activity in comparison with the wild type, and to the genetically modified organisms, in particular plants, themselves.

  • Publication number: 20060021085
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing transgenic plants and/or plant cells having an elevated vitamin E content, said transgenic plants and/or plant cells having a serine-acetyltransferase (SAT) content and/or activity which is modified in relation to the wild type, and/or a modified thiol compound content. The invention also relates to the use of nucleic acids coding for a SAT, for producing transgenic plants or plant cells having an elevated vitamin E content. The invention further relates to a method for producing vitamin E by cultivating transgenic plants or plant cells having a modified SAT content in relation to the wild type.

  • Patent number: 6909407
Abstract: A device for displaying pictograms in a vehicle wherein the device comprises a control unit and a display unit, in particular an LCD display unit, the control unit controlling the display unit, and a method for operating the device, wherein a) the display unit is divided into symbol fields (2, 3, 4, 5, 6) which are arranged one next to the other in a row, the control unit only ever displaying one pictogram in each symbol field simultaneously, b) the control unit always displays in a specific symbol field (2) each new pictogram which is to be displayed in the symbol fields (2, 3, 4, 5, 6) which are arranged one next to the other in a row, and displaces by one symbol field the pictograms which have already been displayed, without changing their order, c) a control element (13) is provided with which a coherent section of the pictograms which are arranged one next to the other in a row can be displayed in the symbol fields of the display unit if more pictograms are to be displayed simultaneously than symbol fie

  • Publication number: 20040086989
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing vitamin E by cultivating organisms, especially plants, which have an increased tyrosine aminotransferase activity in relation to the wild type. The invention also relates to the genetically modified organisms, especially plants themselves.

  • Publication number: 20030084479
Abstract: The invention relates to nucleic acid sequences encoding a protein with homogentisate phytyltransferase activity, to the use of the nucleic acids for generating transgenic organisms such as, for example, transgenic plants with an elevated tocopherol and tocotrienol content, to a method of generating plants with an elevated tocopherol and/or tocotrienol content, and to the transgenic plants themselves.
