  • Patent number: 7002785
Abstract: A device for protecting the electronic circuitry of electrical appliances against damage from unacceptably high voltages. An element is interposed in the power supply paths which limits the application of an externally supplied excessive voltage to a predetermined time interval and which completely interrupts the current flow when the excessive voltage and current causes a heat build-up. This is accomplished by interposing pairs of spaced-apart solder surfaces at at least one point along the current paths to the electronic circuitry. One solder surface of each pair is connected to the power supply and the other to the power consumer. An element is soldered to the respective solder surfaces of the pairs and electrically closes the current path. A mechanically prestressed spring engages the element and reliably separates it from the solder surfaces when the solder melts due to excessive heating.

  • Patent number: 6039536
Abstract: An improvement in an electrical air pump having a housing with a pump mechanism at one end and an electric motor at the other end. The pump mechanism has at least one lightweight pump impeller made of plastic whose hub is press-fit on a shaft of the electric motor. The hub is provided with a plurality of grooves distributed around a bore in the hub which receives the motor shaft. The grooves form spaces between an inner surface of the hub and an outer surface of the shaft and the spaces are filled with an adhesive to bond the hub to the shaft. The grooves extend longitudinally or spirally along the entire length of the hub. The grooves are relatively shallow and have a depth of approximately 0.05 mm.

  • Patent number: 6036456
Abstract: An electrical air pump adapted for being periodically turned on and off and reversed in pumping direction. The air pump includes an electric motor adapted for electronic control and an air pump section joined by a housing as a common system. The housing has a cylindrical wall defining a first chamber in which the stator system is received and a scaling cover is engaged with the housing to seal the first chamber. The air pump section includes a pump cover sealingly engaged with the housing and defining therewith a second chamber, the rotor being of bell shape and rotatably supported in the second chamber on a pin secured in the housing and in the pump cover. The rotor is disposed with slight clearance adjacent to an end wall of the housing and the rotor projects radially beyond the cylindrical wall. The rotor has a collar and a plurality of pumping blades extending radially from the collar into an annular pumping channel of the second chamber.

  • Patent number: 6016195
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fiber optic detector for detection of scattered light or fluorescent light from a liquid suspension, comprising: a lighting optical fiber for transmitting light to a lighting optical fiber outlet; a first gradient index lens disposed at the lighting optical fiber outlet to parallelize light; a detecting optical fiber for transmitting back-scattered light from a detecting optical fiber inlet; a second gradient index lens disposed at the detecting optical fiber inlet to parallelize back-scattered light; and at least one means for focusing parallelized light transmitted from the lighting optical fiber on a point and for focusing light back-scattered from the point to the second gradient index lens of the detecting optical fiber for transmission by the detecting optical fiber.

  • Patent number: 5797727
Abstract: An electrically driven air pump having a housing containing a pump unit driven from a shaft of an electric motor, the pump unit including two impellers made of plastic having hubs which are press-fit on the shaft of the electric motor. A collar is also press-fit on the shaft and abutting against the hub of one impeller on a side thereof facing the electric motor, and a lock ring made of metal is press-fit on the shaft and abuts against the hub of the other impeller on a side thereof facing away from the electric motor thereby to clamp the impellers between the collar and the lock ring. The lock ring and the hub of the adjoining impeller are formed at their mutually abutting surfaces with a tooth and groove arrangement to prevent relative rotary movement therebetween. A similar tooth and groove arrangement can be provided between the abutting surfaces of the impellers and between the abutting surfaces of the collar and the adjoining impeller.

  • Patent number: 5711652
Abstract: An electrically driven air pump having a pump mechanism in a first section of a housing and an electric motor in a second section of the housing in driving engagement with the pump mechanism. First and second end covers are sealingly secured on the housing. The electric motor is supported by elastomer rings in the housing. The pump mechanism has two axially spaced rotor wheels secured on the drive shaft of the motor and a stator wheel between the rotor wheels. The electric motor is balanced, in situ, in its mounted state by adjusting that one of the rotor wheels which is exposed in the housing prior to installation of the end cover on the first section of the housing. After the motor is balanced, the end cover is press fit on the housing and stator wheel to form air-tight, friction fit seal joints therebetween in which the engaged parts which are deformed elastically or plastically.

  • Patent number: 5582354
Abstract: A textile winding machine has a plurality of winding stations and a servicing device which travels along the winding stations. The winding stations are connected with an empty tube magazine disposed at the end of the machine via a conveyor extending along the machine. A manipulating device is provided at each winding station for transferring an empty tube into an intermediate tube storage location of the winding station. The manipulating device has a tube gripper pivotable between a tube pick-up position at the conveyor and a tube release position at the intermediate storage location. The servicing device replaces cheeses which have attained a predetermined diameter with empty tubes by transferring an empty tube out of the intermediate storage location of the respective winding station. In the process, the fill state of the intermediate storage location is monitored by a sensor system installed on the cheese changing servicing device.

  • Patent number: 4531125
Abstract: A three-dimensional air space surveillance radar in which the radar receiver is connected to a target tracking means which stores target data and does extrapolation of target data for target trace formations, including a panoramic antenna which illuminates the entire elevation range to be covered and has a reception lobe at the elevation level which can be electronically or mechanically controlled such that a line air space scanning occurs during the course of normally sequence scanning programs. The line-shaped beam of the antenna is briefly interrupted in the invention from the normal reception lobe elevation angle when the tracker determines that a target echo is expected from a different elevation angle than that being scanned.

  • Patent number: 4454511
Abstract: A fixed target echo rejection circuit in a pulse Doppler radar device which uses recursion filters and which have a return loop with the feedback signal passing through a weighting multiplier. The weighting function of the recursion signal occurs when a change of the pulse repetition frequency (PRF) occurs by switching and changing the weighting factors. So as to reduce spurious signals which would occur during switching, the weighting factor switching is delayed and carried when the recursion signal passes through a zero value so as to substantially reduce the spurious signals.
