  • Patent number: 9617879
Abstract: A switchable support element (1) for a valve train of an internal combustion engine is disclosed, including a housing (4), in the bore of which (5) an axially displaceable inner element (7) is located, wherein two coupling slides (9) run in a radial bore (8) of the inner element (7) and can be brought into engagement with a driver surface of the housing (4) in an axially extended position, wherein the extended position is limited by a height stop (10), which is formed of a circlip assembly, which runs peripherally on an annular shoulder (13) of the inner element (7) and which, in the event of contact, lies radially externally above the upper annular end (14) thereof in abutment against a lower annular edge (15) of an annular groove (16) of the housing (4) near the upper edge thereof (17), and wherein an outer casing (11) of the housing is enclosed by a rotationally fixed ring as an outer anti-twist mechanism (12) with an offset bore (18).

  • Patent number: 9284864
Abstract: A switching roller finger follower, including: a housing with a first wall with a first opening, a second wall with a second opening, and an interior space at least partially formed by the walls; first and second outer arms; and a locking pin disposed in the openings and including a longitudinal axis, a body, and first and second protrusions extending radially outward from the body, formed of a same piece of material as the body, and at least one of which is located within the space. A respective portion of at least one of the first or second protrusions is aligned with the first or second wall in a direction parallel to the first longitudinal axis. The locking pin is displaceable such that: in a locked mode, the locking pin blocks pivoting of the arms; and in an unlocked mode, the locking pin is free of contact with the arms.

  • Publication number: 20110271924
Abstract: A switchable component, which has a housing with a bore and an inner element held in the bore with a head that projects above a rim of the housing. The housing and the inner element are loaded away from each other by a lost-motion spring. At least one coupling piston sits in an opening of the inner element. Sections of the coupling piston are moveable over a ring surface to a carrier surface of the housing. A retaining ring packet has a circular arc-shaped outer surface that lies in a ring groove of the bore of the housing. A ring face of the inner element sits against the underside of the retaining ring packet in the extended state defining relative position. The retaining ring packet, starting from at least one of the surfaces of the retaining ring packet has recesses for forming tab-like sections lying circumferentially between the recesses.
