  • Patent number: 7373816
Abstract: The arrangement relates to a hot-film mass flow meter for recording the flow rate of a flowing medium in the intake tract or the charge air tract of an internal combustion engine. A substrate part is provided, that accommodates a sensor chip, which is allocated to a channel that has flowing through it at least one partial mass flow of the flowing medium. The sensor chip extends into channel that has flowing through it the partial mass flow of the flowing medium. The substrate part is formed either as a separately extruded plastic tongue or as a cavity extruded of plastic material. The sensor chip is integrated downstream with respect to a flow direction of the flowing medium, so as to lie behind a leading edge.

    Filed: September 3, 2004
Date of Patent: May 20, 2008
    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
    Inventors: Manfred Strohrmann, Rainer Schard

  • Patent number: 7024943
Abstract: Two parts which form a device and are joined together according to the related art are joined in a complex manner and require additional elements to produce a tight joint. A device (1) is described which has two parts (3, 6), has welding pockets (9) which are capable of receiving material during the welding operation for producing a joint.

  • Patent number: 6820479
Abstract: A device includes a sensor carrier, on which is arranged a sensor element introduced into the flowing medium. The sensor carrier is produced separately, and the at least one sensor element may be inserted immediately into the sensor carrier. For example, the sensor carrier is mounted on a component of the device by adhesive.

  • Patent number: 6591675
Abstract: The invention relates to a device having a sensor carrier, which comprises a sheet-metal element and a plastic element and on which a measuring element introduced into the flowing medium is disposed. The use of plastic, which for the most part covers the sheet-metal element, means closer tolerances, which improve the performance of the sensor carrier both in terms of its facing into the flow and experiencing a flow around it, for instance by providing it with an improved aerodynamic leading edge, or the measuring element can be mounted flush to the surface and flush with edges of a sensor cavern, so that no turbulence occurs in the medium in the region of the measuring element or flow under the measuring element. The sensor region of the measuring element is reliably protected by recesses in the longitudinal edges and by a special adhesive bonding process from a gel emerging from the electronic evaluation circuit, so that the measuring characteristic curve behavior is not altered.

  • Publication number: 20030037610
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device having a sensor carrier, on which is arranged a sensor element introduced into the flowing medium. According to the related art, the sensor carrier made of metal is mounted on a component of the device. For the installation of the measuring element, the component must be present with the sensor carrier. The sensor carrier (20) of the present invention is produced separately, and the at least one sensor element (33) may be inserted immediately into the sensor carrier (20). For example, the sensor carrier (20) is mounted on a component of the device (1) by adhesive.
