  • Publication number: 20050004499
Abstract: The invention relates to a knee brace with straps engageable with the upper and lower leg and disposed above and below the knee, said straps being connected by a hinged rail extending over the knee at the side, said hinged rail comprising a fluid-inflatable padding and a hinged connection in the region of the knee. The padding comprises two optionally inflatable hollow pads connected by a channel, said hollow pads each being so disposed between the knee-distal straps and the hinged connection that, when the hollow pads are inflated, the knee is forced in relation to the straps into a position away from the hinged connection.

  • Patent number: 6325772
Abstract: The invention concerns an orthesis, made of flexible material, for immobilizing the thumb base joint, with a wrist strap surrounding the wrist and with a tubular extension piece receiving the thumb. The extension piece contains a sheathlike reinforcement with a transverse cutout located on the inside of the thumb base joint, and has in the region of the thumb base joint, on the outside of the thumb, a transverse slit of a length such that the transverse slit opens when the thumb base joint is bent, the degree of opening being limited by a flap which, bridging the transverse slit, extends from the outer region of the extension piece to the wrist strap and can be secured to the latter.

  • Patent number: 6059743
Abstract: The invention relates to a knee-joint orthesis with fastening means for the thigh and the lower leg, which fastening means are connected to one another via at least one two-part rail comprising a pivot hinge which is offset rearwards in relation to the knee joint, to adapt to the pattern of movement of the latter, and which includes a pin. The pin is mounted eccentrically in a pivot bearing which connects both rail parts in a rotationally movable manner and, by its turning movement, continuously displaces the position of the pin, this displacement into its respectively adapted position being effected by the movement of the knee joint.

  • Patent number: 5395306
Abstract: A one-part bandage for the clavicle, with a back strap extending crosswise over the back, to which shoulder straps are connected which cross under the armpits and extend over a clavicle. The straps cross in the region of the middle of the back strap at the crossing place, and run out over the hips to the abdomen into connecting end parts, whereby the end parts are joined together by means of an adhesive seal. This configuration is made of non-elastic strap material. The shoulder straps are applied at places that are distanced from one another on the back strap on its side turned away from the back, whereby support places are each formed by an adhesive seal, whose adhesive part is introduced on the back strap and whose coating part completely covering the respective adhesive part is formed by the respective shoulder strap.

  • Patent number: 5393300
Abstract: Shoulder joint bandage with a tubular section which envelops the upper arm and a shoulder top piece connecting thereto to whose edge on the neck side retaining straps are fastened of which one--in the form of a back strap--traverses the back diagonally and envelops the hip under the armpit of the shoulder which is opposite to the shoulder top piece whereas the other is led at least partially--in the form of a chest strap--over the side of the chest to this hip where the back strap and chest strap cross and continue in their direction, in each case, on the other side of the body into the other half of the body. The two continuation belts at the upper arm located near the hip in question envelop this in the opposite direction from the hip side whereby the end of each continuation belt is attached, in each case, to the same continuation belt after enveloping the upper arm.

  • Patent number: 4928404
Abstract: A heel cushion composed of silicone rubber having a region which can be centrally or eccentrically located directly below the heel spur and composed of a softer silicone rubber than the balance of the heel cushion so that in heel regions subjected to higher pressure, that higher pressure will be absorbed by the softer material and the pressure throughout the back bottom part of the foot will be more uniform.

  • Patent number: 4784128
Abstract: A shoulder-joint bandage having an elastic sleeve and a pair of belts which extend helically around the sleeve in opposite senses from the distal end thereof to then run along opposite lateral edges of a cap of the sleeve overlying the shoulder. The belts cross again behind the back of the patient and one belt passes around the other arm through the armpit and joins the other belt, e.g. at a buckle permitting longitudinal adjustment of the belts.
