  • Patent number: 10525408
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved method and to an improved device for degassing polymer melts and for neutralizing the thus produced pollutants, characterised by the following characteristics: said pollutants are guided to a plasma source after removal from the degassing area and prior to adding to a filter step or a separator, said plasma source being built and/or formed such that in said plasma source, the pollutants are transformed, entirely or partially, in a plasma aggregate state.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 1, 2015
Date of Patent: January 7, 2020
Assignee: BRÜCKNER MASCHINENBAU GMBH & CO. KG
Inventors: Josef Eisch, Nicole Ambrosius-Voss, Rainer Schwuchow, Stefan Seibel
  • Patent number: 9975278
Abstract: An improved device for degassing polymer melts is characterised by, inter alia, the following features: the at least one vacuum separator comprises cooling pipes extending parallel to each other in the tank interior of the vacuum separator housing, the cooling pipes are double-walled, the cooling pipes end at a distance above a collection chamber or above the tank bottom of the vacuum separator housing, and a cleaning device having a scraper or a wiper is provided, said cleaning device being adapted to the cross-sectional shape of the cooling pipes and preferably to the course of the inner wall of the vacuum separator housing and being movable at least in a partial height at least to the lower end of the cooling pipes.

  • Patent number: 6083443
Abstract: A pigmented, printable, biaxially oriented polymer film, also known as a synthetic paper, having one or more layers, is produced by (1) extruding a melt of a mixture made from crystallizable film-forming polymers, pigments or fillers, (2) allowing the extruded melt with pigments and fillers embedded in it to harden while controlling the temperature and thickness of the primary film produced followed by biaxial orientation and cooling. During this process, the temperature of the primary film is controlled in a range between its solidifying point and the temperature required for orientation such that the primary film is never cooled to a temperature below that required for orientation. Also the interval between solidification and orientation process is selected to allow crystallization of the film-forming polymer between the embedded particles of filler and pigment before orientation.
