  • Publication number: 20100280761
Abstract: A method and device are provided for determining the transmembrane pressure during an extracorporeal blood treatment in which blood flows at a defined blood flow rate through an arterial blood conduit of an extracorporeal blood circuit into the inlet of a first chamber of a dialyzer, which is divided by a semipermeable membrane into the first chamber and a second chamber, and flows through a venous blood conduit from the outlet of the first chamber of the dialyzer, while dialysis liquid flows through a dialysis liquid supply conduit into the inlet of the second chamber of the dialyzer and flows through a dialaysis liquid discharge conduit from the outlet of the second chamber of the dialyzer.

  • Patent number: 5237944
Abstract: A stitch forming machine is provided including a transducer for determining the tension present in a thread, wherein the thread tension assumes a higher value during stitch formation and the transducer provides a signal representing the tension level. The control is provided for evaluating the signal corresponding to the tension level. The control includes a comparator device for comparing a peak of the signal representing the tension level, which peak can be used to detect a malfunction, with a limit signal, corresponding to a limit tension. The comparator sends a signal to a switching device when a signal peak drops below the limit signal. The switching device may be connected to a shut-off device of the drive motor of the machine as well as one or more display elements. In this way, the machine may be stopped and the display element associated with a limit tension, below which the tension dropped by a switching device.

  • Patent number: 4923558
Abstract: A device for welding plastic foil strips together with a heating device and a pair of pressure rolls between which the strips are fed, includes a pressure device supported by a spring mechanism for one of two pressure rolls. The pressure device includes a first regulating mechanism for the setting of the width of the gap between the two pressure rolls and a second regulating mechanism for the setting of the welding pressure which is arranged on the first regulating mechanism and which can be moved by it. The regulating units of the two regulating mechanisms are two interacting eccentric elements. This leads to a compact design and only little force is necessary for the setting of the welding pressure.

  • Patent number: 4660481
Abstract: A sewing machine having a reciprocating needle bar and a presser foor which is movable upwardly and downwardly to engage material and move it over a sewing station includes a presser foot measuring device. A system for measuring the pressing force of the presser foot of sewing machines comprises a lever type force absorption element which is elastically deformable by the pressing force of the presser foot and which is provided with an electric sensor responding to the deformation. Connected with the sensor is a circuit which contains a digital display on which the pressing force is indicated in newtons.
