  • Patent number: 7322595
Abstract: A fastening arrangement for an airbag module in motor vehicles wherein the gas generator is fastened by means of at least one stay bolt and nut screwed thereupon. The bolt is designed for the gas generator and penetrating through at least one hole of a retaining member that serves for mounting the airbag module and fastening to a vehicle part. An electrical insulating shell and washer are arranged between the gas generator and the retaining member to prevent spurious voltage signals from communicating with the gas generator, which can lead to inadvertent airbag deployment.

  • Patent number: 6447003
Abstract: An airbag module has an airbag made of two fabric layers each having a lateral offset. The two fabric layers are circumferentially connected to one another by a seam. The lateral offsets together form a receiving pocket into which a gas generator is inserted. The gas generator has projecting pin-shaped securing elements. The pocket has penetrating openings and at least one fabric flap. The flap has an auxiliary opening. The pin-shaped securing elements are received in the penetrating openings to thereby secure the gas generator in the pocket. The flap, after insertion of the gas generator into the pocket and of pin-shaped securing elements in penetrating openings, is folded over such that the auxiliary opening is placed onto one of the pin-shaped securing elements.

  • Patent number: 6110094
Abstract: In a method for folding an airbag of an airbag system connected to a gas generator a tailored fabric consisting of two fabric layers defining the airbag volume is laid out flat and then engaged by a tool at the center of the length of the tailored fabric. At least a portion of the tailored fabric laid out flat is rolled in the direction toward the gas generator by rotating the tool so that the portion of the tailored fabric positioned at a side of the tool facing away from the gas generator is rolled into a double-layer roll. The tool is removed upon completion of the rolling process.
