Secondary air is blown into an exhaust-gas system (15) of the combustion engine (5) via the secondary air charger (10). The secondary air charger (10) is driven by a pressure drop across an actuating element (20) for adjusting an air supply to the engine (5). The actuating element (20) is driven for adjusting an air supply to the engine (5) corrected in dependence upon an air mass flow driving a turbine (25) of the secondary air charger (10).
