  • Patent number: 7048276
Abstract: A flying device for IR flying target representation with at least one infrared radiator (2). An infrared radiator (2) is arranged inside the exhaust gas flow of a convected heat-generating unit so that the exhaust gas stream completely encloses the surface of the infrared radiator (2) exposed to airflow.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 7, 2003
Date of Patent: May 23, 2006
    Assignee: Dornier GmbH

  • Patent number: 6940036
Abstract: In a process for laser-plasma hybrid welding, to weld work pieces, a laser beam and a plasma jet are brought together in the process region close to the work piece. A free microwave-induced plasma jet is generated by the following process. Microwaves are generated in a high-frequency microwave source, and the microwaves are guided in a hollow waveguide. A process gas is introduced into a microwave-transparent tube, which includes a gas inlet opening and a gas outlet opening, at a pressure p?1 bar. The process gas is introduced into the microwave-transparent tube through the gas inlet opening in such a manner that it has a tangential flow component. A plasma is generated in the microwave-transparent tube by electrode-free ignition of the process gas, and a plasma jet is generated by introduction of the plasma into the working space through a metallic nozzle arranged at the gas outlet opening of the tube.

  • Patent number: 5782085
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for continuously removing nitrogen oxides in exhaust gases of internal combustion engines containing an excess of oxygen by feeding a reactive nitrogen-containing plasma jet into the exhaust gas stream, wherein the plasma jet is generated by electromagnetic high-frequency fields.

  • Patent number: 5458850
Abstract: A method and an apparatus reduces particles in exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine by passing the exhaust gases through a microwave energy field in a resonator for applying energy and burning the particles. In order to improve the application of energy, the particles are agglomerated beforehand in a high-voltage field of an electrostatic filter.

  • Patent number: 5397555
Abstract: A process for the continuous removal of carbon particles in exhaust gas flows uses a plasma process. A stationary oxidative plasma process achieves a particle burn-up of the excess oxygen in technical combustion processes.
