  • Publication number: 20120251810
Abstract: The present invention is related to the use of specific derivatives of diphosphines as flame retardants in aromatic and heteroaromatic epoxy resins and to a method for reducing the flammability of organic material comprising aromatic and/or heteroaromatic epoxy resins in which the specific derivates of diphosphines are incorporated. Moreover, the invention is related to an aromatic and/or heteroaromatic epoxy resin composition containing aromatic and heteroaromatic epoxy resin as such or in processed form and incorporated in the aromatic and/or heteroaromatic epoxy resin at least one of the derivatives of diphosphines in an amount of from 1 to 35% by weight, based on the weight of the aromatic and/or heteroaromatic epoxy resin.

  • Publication number: 20120177713
Abstract: A new composite comprises (a) 10.1-99.9% by weight of elemental Ag and (b) 0.1-89.9% by weight of ZnO, wherein the sum of (a) and (b) makes 90% or more by weight of the composite and wherein the elemental Ag has a primary particle size of 10-200 nm and/or the ZnO has a primary particle size of 0.1 to below 50 ?m and/or the composite has a particle size distribution of 0.1-50 ?m and/or a BET surface area of 10-100 m2/g. The novel composite may be obtained by the steps (i) mixing a first mixture of at least one Ag-salt with a second mixture of at least one Zn-salt thereby forming a third mixture of Ag- and Zn-salts, (ii) adding the third mixture to a mixture of a carbonate source, (iii) co-precipitating of the Ag- and Zn-carbonates formed in step (ii), (iv) washing of the Ag- and Zn-carbonates and (v) thermal decompositing of the Ag- and Zn-carbonates.

  • Publication number: 20090117389
Abstract: The present invention relates to a surface-coating material comprising a matrix of an at least partly organic polymer and also at least one component selected from components which, following appropriate triggering, are reactive towards oxygen. These components are preferably oxygen-consuming and/or they are able to indicate the presence of oxygen. The surface-coating material is suitable in particular as a coating material or as an adhesive. The invention further relates to a substrate provided with a coating of the stated surface-coating material, to a composite material composed of a plurality of layers which have been joined using this surface-coating material, and to production processes therefor. In one particular embodiment the matrix is formed from an organic-inorganic hybrid polymer; alternatively it may have a purely organic construction. The component that is reactive towards oxygen may either be embedded in the matrix or incorporated covalently therein.
