For example, it would be useful to be able to move a presentation from a computer to a mobile communications device. Some solutions attempt to address this by requiring a user to load the information on a laptop, USB key, burn it to an optical disk or the like, and then “open” the information on another device located at the remote destination. In one embodiment, through the use of one or more of virtualization and content translation, any information and/or applications can be exchanged between a computer and a communications device. More specifically, one embodiment utilizes metadata in conjunction with a virtualization environment to allow the exchange of information and/or applications between a personal computer and a communications device, or vice versa.

Alias information is identity information for a user that identifies the user on a social media site or network (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.). The alias information can be stored in a contacts program or other data store. During a web-based telephone call between two IP-enabled phones, the alias information may be retrieved. The alias information can then be sent to the other IP-enabled phone or to another device associated with the calling party. In response to receiving the alias information, the calling party can automatically retrieve information associated with the called party and the alias from one or more social media sites.

Abstract: Methods and systems for displaying content are provided. More specifically, an integrated content application is provided in which related content is displayed in a single window user interface. The content displayed can be determined by instructions received by the integrated content application. Different items of content can be displayed in sequence, but are not displayed simultaneously. Moreover, one item of content can provide context for another item of content. In addition, one item of content can be presented in non-real time, while the other related item of content can be presented in real time.

Abstract: Mechanisms are provided herein which are directed toward monitoring a user's interaction with a website when the user is utilizing an enterprise device to conduct the interaction. The monitoring of the interaction can lead to the generation of one or more automated responses to control the interaction in accordance with enterprise policy or rules. The types of interactions which can be controlled include interactions where the user is attempting to post data on the website.

Abstract: A system allows a user to drag content from one application and drop the content into a separate application. In response to the user interface functions of dragging and dropping the content, an importation system can create a data object. The object can have fields that are defined based on the application or data being dragged. The object fields may be automatically populated using a search function that searches for data in the application that may be highlighted during the drag function. The drop is intercepted the information is formatted for the receiving application. The information is formatted to meet the specifications of the receiving application to optimize the storage and use of the information. Thus, the system can translate the information from its native format into a format understandable by the receiving application.

For example, in an e-mail type of environment, received communications could be re-organized based on one or more of the above, such that higher priority communications are escalated to “the-top-of-the-stack.” This similar type of operation can be done in a communications modality independent manner, and extended to, for example, voicemails, caller ID, SMS messages, or in general any communication in any communications modality, where one or more communications are capable of being managed and re-organized. As an optional embodiment, an attribute or characteristic associated with the communication can be modified, such that the user is aware of the ranking associated with that communication.

Abstract: A system creates a trusted group of devices for single sign on. The trusted group is a set of two or more devices which can communicate securely to exchange information about the states of the devices. The two or more devices can arrange or establish the trusted group through the exchange of credentials or authentication information. After the establishment of the trusted group, the two or more devices may communicate through a secure connection established between the members of the trusted group. Each device may then execute normally and may encounter events that change the status of the device. Information about the locking or unlocking of the computer can be exchanged with the other members of the trusted group and the other members may also lock or unlock in concert.

Abstract: A system and method create an interconnection among users of different social networks. Each user can provide information about the social networks they use (e.g., username, passwords, etc.). An application may register with the social network and can inter-dispose the application between the user and the social network. Then, the system can interconnect the users into a “virtual private network” (VPN) where communications between the users and the social networks can be replicated to other social networks for the other users. As such, different users using different social networks can communicate.

In particular, events can be detected by analyzing multiple messages which were retrieved from social media networks and converted into work items. If the analysis of the work items results in the detection of a trend or similarity among the work items, then it may be inferred that an event has or is occurring.
