  • Patent number: 7720211
Abstract: A telecommunications service provisioning method and system are disclosed having customer-want date (CWD) oriented scheduling. In one embodiment, the method comprises: (a) accepting order entry notifications; and (b) initiating an initiator process for each order entry notification. The initiator process initiates multiple processes including a truck roll process that arranges for a visit to the customer premises for installation of equipment. The truck roll process may implement a jeopardy timer that sends an alert message if prerequisites for the truck roll process have not been satisfied by some predetermined time in advance of the installation date. The initiator process may send a customer reminder two days before a prearranged installation date. One or more of the other initiated processes may arrange for activation of a service component (e.g. 911 emergency location service) a predetermined period before the installation date.

  • Patent number: 7636350
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for telecommunications circuit provisioning in multiple technologies. In one embodiment, the system comprises a first provisioning system configured to allocate telecommunications circuits of a first kind (e.g., circuit-switched), a second provisioning system configured to allocate telecommunications circuits of a second kind (packet-switched), and an order control system. The order control system may receive an access request and may respond by obtaining telecommunications circuit allocations from the first and second provisioning systems. The order control system may further receive notice from a provisioning system that a different provisioning system is to be used, and the order control system may respond by providing access request information to the identified provisioning system. The order control system may further combine responses and reports from the provisioning systems to provide complete responses and reports to the source of the access request.
