  • Patent number: 8938202
Abstract: A system for reducing operational power and weight of an unmanned aerial device's payload may include a frequency detection sensor for detecting a radio frequency signal within a first frequency range. A modulation detection and waveform classification module may be coupled to the frequency detection sensor for detecting a communication type associated with the first frequency range upon the frequency detection sensor detecting the radio frequency signal within the first frequency range. A radio may be coupled to the modulation detection and waveform classification module for transmitting the radio frequency signal, the radio frequency signal may include the communication type. The radio may be inactive until detection of the radio frequency signal, and the radio may be activated upon detection of the radio frequency signal.

  • Patent number: 8904522
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a classification system which includes a classification circuit which may determine a classification of a signal based on comparing signal data received via a sensor to data in a database. The classification circuit may determine an interface protocol based on the classification.

  • Patent number: 7779458
Abstract: The present invention is a wireless communication system and method. In an exemplary embodiment, the wireless communication system includes a destination system and a source network. The source network provides network services to the destination system. Further, a plurality of mobile nodes are communicatively coupled with each other for allowing data packets to be transferred between the source network and the destination system. In addition, at least one firewall is communicatively coupled with the destination system and at least one of the mobile nodes included within the plurality of mobile nodes for monitoring data packet exchange between the source network and the destination system. The at least one firewall utilizes at least location as a controlling parameter for regulating data packet exchange as the at least one mobile end node moves into areas associated with varying degrees of threat.

  • Patent number: 7672281
Abstract: A method of communicating in a wireless ad-hoc network is disclosed. The network has a plurality of nodes, including a requesting node, configured for wireless communication therebetween. Each node transmits a situational awareness message to adjacent nodes. The message informs other nodes of a geographic location of the transmitting node. Each adjacent node, upon receiving the message, re-transmits the message to nodes adjacent the adjacent nodes when the transmitting node is within a predetermined re-transmitting distance. The requesting node transmits a situational awareness request to the nodes in the network. Each node in the set of nodes transmits a situational awareness response to the situational awareness request. The situational awareness response provides a geographic location of said each node in the set of nodes. Each node in the network that receives the situational awareness response re-transmits the situational awareness response along a transmission path toward the requesting node.

  • Patent number: 7400598
Abstract: A method of communicating in a wireless ad-hoc communications network is disclosed. The network includes a plurality of nodes configured for wireless communication therebetween. According to the method, a receiving node receives a message originating from a source node. The receiving and source nodes are included in the network. It is determined whether the receiving node is of a node type intended to process the message. It is determined whether the receiving node is less than a predetermined distance from the source node. The message is processed by the receiving node when the receiving node is of the node type intended to process the message and when the receiving node is less than a predetermined distance from the source node.
