  • Patent number: 8565373
Abstract: A method and system for automatically adjusting the gantry position to the breast height level of a patient. The automated height adjustment system for mammography imaging systems having a movable gantry associated with a fixed vertical support, comprises a tracking unit for tracking a patient's breast height level during patient's initial mammography procedure; and memory for storing the tracked breast height level along with the patient identification information. The system further comprises a processor configured to access the breast height level using the patient identification information during subsequent mammography procedures for the patient; and a drive mechanism capable of automatically adjusting the height of the gantry based on the accessed breast height level.

  • Patent number: 8542903
Abstract: A method for automatically delineating image data corresponding to vasculature in an anatomical region is presented. The method includes obtaining image data corresponding to soft tissue representative of the anatomical region. In addition, the method includes segmenting image data corresponding to a region of interest from image data corresponding to the anatomical region based on a patient population to obtain image data corresponding to a segmented region of interest. Furthermore, the method includes extracting image data corresponding to vasculature associated with the segmented region of interest by suppressing image data corresponding to soft tissue representative of the segmented region of interest. Systems and computer-readable medium that afford functionality of the type defined by this method are also contemplated in conjunction with the present technique.

  • Publication number: 20110145274
Abstract: Systems, methods and mediums with instructions for viewing medical data are provided. A system for viewing medical data can include a computer processor, a database and a user interface. The database can include numerous entries from numerous clinical modalities. Each entry can include image data and/or non-image data. Each entry can include annotated medical information from a previous study. The annotated medical information can include comments and markings. The database can be searchable to identify an entry based on input medical information relating to a current study. The user interface can be configured to simultaneously display annotated medical information from an identified entry and medical information from the current study. The system can further include a second user interface configured to display medical information, allow a user to annotate the medical information, and allow the user to save the annotated medical information as an entry in the database.
