  • Publication number: 20160030865
Abstract: A cartridge forming part of a fluid filter includes a filter element, an end cap overlying one end of the filter element, a central tube having one end secured to the end cap, a biasing element, and a relief valve having a valve piston with a head that is biased by the biasing element into engagement with a valve seat formed by an underside of the end cap. The valve seat is configured so that it has a curvature that is larger than that of the head of the valve piston. In the particular arrangement disclosed, a second end cap overlies another end of the filter element, axially opposite the end cap mentioned, and is also secured to the central tube. Preferably, at least one of the central tube and the valve piston defines a depending pilot for supporting an end of the biasing element.

  • Patent number: 9095795
Abstract: An anti-drainback valve contains a locking mechanism for securing the valve into to a filter assembly. The locking mechanism is made up of at least two keys that extend from the valve into beyond a cap of the filter assembly in order to secure the valve within the filter assembly. When multiple keys are employed, such keys may be equally spaced around the circumference of the cap. Manufacturing costs are kept minimal as minimal material is required and a two part mold may be employed during manufacturing.

  • Publication number: 20090211964
Abstract: An improved, reduced waste fluid filter has a concave housing having a first end, a second end, a fluid inlet port and a fluid outlet port. A cover plate assembly is sealably attached to a second end of the housing providing a closed area with which the inlet and outlet ports communicate. The cover plate assembly contains a retainer and a thread mounting plate. The improved thread mounting plate has thin steel with corrugations or ribs for stiffening the plate and is assembled with the retainer to form the cover plate assembly. An elongated cylindrical disposable fluid filter element is supported within the closed area of the housing and cover plate assembly. The filter element has a perforated center tube, a first end of which communicates with the fluid outlet port, the other end of the center tube being closed.

  • Publication number: 20060070941
Abstract: A fuel module includes a fuel pump having a fuel inlet and fuel outlet. The module also includes a fuel filter having a filter inlet and a filter outlet. The module has a housing with a body that defines a cavity. The fuel pump and fuel filter are arranged in the cavity. The housing includes a removable end cap that at least partially encloses the cavity in an installed position and provides access to the cavity in a service position. Fastening elements such as threaded fasteners secure the removable end cap to the body in the installed position. Seals are arranged between the fuel pump and fuel filter and the end cap when in the installed position. The end cap also includes caps secured to a surface of the end cap to provide fluid passages where necessary. When the fuel pump or fuel filter requires replacement, the threaded fasteners and end cap are removed from the body, and the fuel pump and/or fuel filter may be detached from the end cap.
