  • Patent number: 11304198
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described Generally, the described techniques provide for dynamically adjusting PDCP data splitting based on traffic parameters. In some examples, a wireless device may allocate data between first and second radio access technologies. The wireless device may receive a first set of data traffic parameters from a medium access control layer at the wireless device, where the data traffic parameters are associated with the first radio access technology. The wireless device may receive a second set of data traffic parameters from a medium access control layer at a second wireless device, where the data traffic parameters are associated with the second radio access technology. The wireless device may adjust the data allocation to the first and second radio access technologies based on receiving the first and second sets of data traffic parameters.

  • Patent number: 9930569
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for wireless condition based multi radio access based wireless communication are provided. In one aspect, a device configured to communicate via a wireless communication link is provided. The device includes a controller configured to send a request for network resources for packet data transmission. The controller may be configured to suppress the request for network resources based in part on a condition of the wireless communication link and a type of wireless communication that is being transmitted by the device.

  • Patent number: 9008047
Abstract: In an aspect of the present disclosure, presented is a method for wireless communication that includes obtaining at least one transport format combination (TFC), determining a minimum TFC (MinTFC) mode based on at least one TFC state of at least one TFC inside or outside a MinTFC set, and controlling at least one TFC based on the MRAB MinTFC mode. Through this method, pack-switched transmission power can be managed in a manner that will cause a circuit-switched call to function properly in challenging power conditions.

  • Patent number: 8873535
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for retransmitting protocol data units in wireless communication are provided. In one aspect, a device configured to communicate via a wireless communication link includes a processor. The processor is configured to transmit a plurality of protocol data units (PDUs) to a receiving device, select a first PDU from a set of PDUs that has not been acknowledged by the receiving device, retransmit the first selected PDU with a first poll indicator, select a second PDU from the set, and retransmit the second selected PDU with a second poll indicator. The second PDU is different than the first PDU. In some aspects, the PDUs are selected based on the PDUs' original transmission time. In other aspects, the PDUs may be selected based on the PDU's most recent transmission time.

  • Patent number: 8447291
Abstract: In an embodiment, a user equipment (UE) determines that a client application has entered a period of transmission inactivity whereby the UE will not be required to transmit data on behalf of the client application. The UE selectively transmits a transmission inactivity notification to an access network (AN) to notify the AN of the transmission inactivity period. The AN receives the transmission inactivity notification and determines to transition the UE from a first state to a second state based at least in part on the received transmission inactivity notification, the second state associated with lower-power consumption of the UE than the first state. The AN sends instructions to the UE to facilitate the transition of the UE from the first state to the second state. In another embodiment, the AN can send instructions to the UE to prohibit the UE from sending transmission inactivity notifications.
