  • Publication number: 20080122861
Abstract: System and method for generating multiprimary signals with optimization for bit depth for use in display devices. A preferred embodiment comprises converting an input color signal into an output color signal, wherein the number of colors in the output color signal is less than a number of colors used in a display system, when a weighting of the input color signal is less than a specified threshold, and converting the input color signal into an output color signal, wherein the number of colors in the output color signal is equal to the number of colors used in the display system, when the weighting of the input color signal is greater than the specified threshold. The use of fewer colors eliminates low bit depth colors, allowing increased dither quality in dimmer images.

  • Publication number: 20080100639
Abstract: System and method for computing coefficients for color correcting rendered colors used in displaying images. A preferred embodiment comprises measuring color values of light output for a display system, receiving color values of desired colors, and computing a color correction matrix based on the measured color values and the input color values. The color correction matrix may be used to modify color commands to a light engine of the display system. The modifications to the color commands permit the storage and use of a set of color commands designed for a reference display system, simplifying display system design and manufacture.

  • Publication number: 20080043260
Abstract: Disclosed embodiments relate to techniques for color gamut mapping when an input signal transmitting color visual images has a different color gamut than does the output display device. Polynomial rubber-sheet mapping may be used to translate the input color gamut to the output color gamut on a hue-by-hue basis within a three-dimensional perceptual color space. Also, a memory color look-up table may be used to preserve memory colors in the input gamut which are capable of reproduction within the output gamut. By using such techniques alone or in combination, it may be possible to more effectively map an input color gamut to a different output color gamut with improved calorimetric accuracy.

  • Publication number: 20070242289
Abstract: System and method for generating multiprimary signals for use in display devices. A preferred embodiment comprises converting a color signal into an intermediate color space representation of the color signal, converting one of a plurality of multiprimary signals that is a representation of the color signal into an intermediate color space representation of the multiprimary signal, computing a quality measure of the intermediate color space representations of the color signal and the multiprimary signal, repeating the converting of a multiprimary signal and the computing for the remainder of the plurality of multiprimary signals, and selecting a multiprimary signal that optimizes the quality measure. The quality measure can consider requirements such as those minimizing a distance between the color signal and the multiprimary signal, an energy change as well as a phase change between the multiprimary signal and its neighbors, all leading to improved image quality.

  • Publication number: 20070081102
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and processes for automatically adjusting the white point of displayed images to account for changes in ambient light. In one embodiment, a display system includes a display device having sensors for recording the red (R), green (G) and blue (B) values for ambient light and measuring the intensity of such light. The sensors feed these values into a processor, which calculates R, G, B gain values to be applied to the video input R, G, B values. In this manner, the display device can account for changes in ambient light to adjust the perceived white point accordingly. Related methods for automatically adjusting the white point of a perceived image are also described.

  • Publication number: 20050265335
Abstract: A method for prioritizing IP traffic in a wireless network based on a type-of-service (TOS) identifier is provided. The method includes receiving an IP datagram. The IP datagram comprises an original TOS identifier. An IP message is formed by adding an IP header to the IP datagram. The original TOS identifier is copied from the IP datagram into a duplicate TOS identifier in the IP header.

  • Publication number: 20050265277
Abstract: A method for sending IP packets from a base station to a mobile station during transition of the mobile station from a dormant state to an active state is provided. The method includes receiving a lagging feature request from the mobile station. A physical layer of a traffic channel is established between the base station and the mobile station. A network layer of the traffic channel is established between the base station and the mobile station. After the physical layer of the traffic channel is established and while the network layer of the traffic channel is being established, the IP packets are packaged and sent to the mobile station in a particular format.
